Jimmy Stewart finally getting the credit for those world-class cum gutters.

by Anonymousreply 1August 5, 2025 9:46 PM

Wow. Can't wait to see that one. The only thing better would be a double bill with the Helen Hayes biopic.

by Anonymousreply 2August 5, 2025 9:47 PM

Something is so off about him, I can never put my finger on it but he’s so weird looking. He’s like close to being incredibly handsome but he also looks like a creep at the same time.

by Anonymousreply 3August 5, 2025 9:52 PM

Who will play besties Ron & Nazi?

by Anonymousreply 4August 5, 2025 9:54 PM

Tentative outline

I. Pennsylvania Childhood II. Early Film Career and Bachelor Days III. War Service and Marriage IV. Late Film Career and Tonight Show Appearances V. Toupee-Fitting and Death

by Anonymousreply 5August 5, 2025 9:57 PM

I also believed he grew up in the state of Indiana and not Indiana, Pennsylvania. Did Pennsylvanians really have that kind of drawl?

by Anonymousreply 6August 5, 2025 10:09 PM

Will this film beat the alleged Tom Holland as Fred Astaire biopic to cinemas?

by Anonymousreply 7August 5, 2025 10:30 PM

What's so interesting about Jimmy Stewart's life? Sorry, Carol.

by Anonymousreply 8August 5, 2025 10:32 PM

Biopics are always lazy whitewashed trash

by Anonymousreply 9August 5, 2025 10:38 PM

The film's director is one of those professional Christians who makes movies for PureFlix and Affirm.

R10 appropriate.

Jimmy was a devout Christian

by Anonymousreply 11August 5, 2025 10:43 PM

They look nothing alike

God. The film just became even duller. Without scenes of Stewart banging ever actress in Hollywood (even Norma Shearer and Dinah Shore!) or Marlene Dietrich aborting their baby, the dramatic moments will be few and far between.

A toned, biracial New Zealander. It’s a stroke of genius casting!

by Anonymousreply 14August 5, 2025 10:56 PM

I can’t wait to see how they age him to recreate the shoot of the beloved (by DL) classic, Airport ‘77.

by Anonymousreply 15August 5, 2025 11:09 PM

That's not a very nice thing to say about Jimmy Stewart!

by Anonymousreply 16August 5, 2025 11:11 PM

The tenacement of Stewart’s shirtless scene in Rear Window will look John Gavin in Psycho.

by Anonymousreply 17August 5, 2025 11:44 PM

R7 Do they sit around looking at the latest "star" going, "Who does he look like to make a biopic."?

by Anonymousreply 18August 5, 2025 11:47 PM

I can imagine now fundie Burns's direction of the tense scene where the New Zealander Apa yells at Marlene in his best Steward drawl: "I told you we're not keeping the damn thing. You're going to go to that lady I told you about and have her suck l it out.""

by Anonymousreply 19August 6, 2025 1:03 AM

I’ve always liked Jimmy Stewart’s iconic films and varied movie roles. I think it’s nice that his life will be getting the big-screen-bio treatment.

by Anonymousreply 20August 6, 2025 1:09 AM

Jimmy Stewart was like the original Tom Hanks to me. Talented and wonderful to watch but also one of the most boring people ever.

How he and Dietrich had a relationship I’ll never understand that one.

by Anonymousreply 21August 6, 2025 1:31 AM

He fucked like a rabbit!

by Anonymousreply 22August 6, 2025 1:57 AM

Director has gayface.

by Anonymousreply 23August 6, 2025 2:02 AM

WHY? WHY? Just WHY? A part Samoan/Pakeha actor playing Jimmy. My late father would not approve of this, Jimmy was his fav actor who had a very distinctive voice.

by Anonymousreply 24August 6, 2025 3:09 AM

Governor Wallace at r24, this is no longer 1961.

by Anonymousreply 25August 6, 2025 3:14 AM

They picked the wrong Hitchcock star. he should be playing Anthony Perkins.

by Anonymousreply 26August 6, 2025 3:37 AM

R26 no.

by Anonymousreply 27August 6, 2025 3:40 AM

Who’s gonna be Fonda? And, when do they fuck?

by Anonymousreply 28August 6, 2025 4:04 AM

This is the worst casting since Zoe Saldana was cast as Nina Simone. Guess they aren't going for even a tiny bit of a resemblance.

by Anonymousreply 29August 6, 2025 4:06 AM

R20 The days of 'Columbia Pictures and Mr. Harry Cohn present Miss Kim Novak as Jeanne Eagels' are over.

This is the vanity project of Jimmy Stewart's daughter shot cheaply in Ireland by a no-name Christian movie producer turned director. It'll probably be dumped into theatres by Roadside Attractions (at best) between a movie about a Christian football coach and some failed Oscar play for an aging actress from the previous year's Toronto Film Festival.

The "Burns & Co. Productions has set a U.S. theatrical release for November 2026" line is hilarious given that whatever distributor deigns to release this thing will get to set those terms.

by Anonymousreply 30August 6, 2025 4:24 AM

R25 had to look Wallace up as I'm not American. Sticking to what I said.

by Anonymousreply 31August 6, 2025 4:32 AM

I cant wait for all the scenes of him bombing Japan!!!

by Anonymousreply 32August 6, 2025 5:00 AM

He looks remarkably like JS in that photo. It's eerie.
