Every generation needs a fad they'll look back and laugh about. I remember I got a "body wave" perm because I wanted to look like Patrick Dempsey (when he was young).

R4 the one on the top-left looks like he's rocking the Sophia Petrillo.

It's been a trend for so long that it just seems lame now. When I can tell someone has spent plenty of time and money on their look, but they only follow the most obvious trends, I think they must be so dull.

Do perms still smell horrible? My mom use to perm her hair with those at home kits and man the smell was horrible, like something had died.

It just smelled like ammonia.

IG and Tik Tok guy Brandon Yoon, who is 100% adorable, perms his hair for some body otherwise he says it’s straight. No poodle perm though.

R7 I'm reminded of this GG scene where Sophia brings Blanche, Rose, and Dorothy to her hairdresser and he ends up giving them all Sophia's hairdo much to their horror.

Except these guys really want to look like that on purpose.

Back in the day I would ask for a body wave and ended up with an afro because the stylist said if she used the big rods I wouldn't "get anything." Did that a couple of times before I gave up.

This is a current fad, but what about the 100,000,000 young men over the past 25 years that have pasted their hair into fixed shapes using "product". ? Frankly, there's something to be said for just being able to run your hands through someone's hair without "crunch, pow, yank, ouch" "don't touch my hair".?. All I could ever think about in those situations was the scene from "Something About Mary". I'm a big fan of finding a flattering hair cut for your hair typem and sticking with it, for decades if need be. (If your hair lasts long enough).

Whatever these foreigners are doing you know it's just cultural appropriation.
