Is that how a lot of these universities justifying what they are doing?
There are only two sexes.
And does this not sound reasonable?
"The university said it will ensure that female students are offered the option for “female-only housing, restrooms, and showering facilities,” and that students will have access to single-sex floors in on-campus housing, according to a copy of the agreement and an email that university President Christina Paxson sent to students and faculty, which HuffPost has reviewed. Female student athletes will also be provided with separate facilities such as locker rooms and bathrooms."
"The university also agreed not to perform gender-affirming surgeries, or to provide puberty blockers or hormones to any minor. The university said it will “refer affected students” to medical practitioners in the area and noted that the agreement doesn’t impact services provided by local health systems, including Brown University Health."

Transgenders usually identify as one of two sexes. That's the whole point actually. I don't see a problem.

There are some reforms that should be retained.

OP, to answer your question, that is what I'm assuming (re: some of the kowtowing to Trump that universities and other "businesses" are doing to retain federal funding).

Why change it back, it's not incorrect!

If in 4 years the Democrats come back with this nonsense about 50 genders and genital mutilation of children, they will lose again. I'm hoping we're smarter than that.

No, we can't change back.

In 4 years we’ll all be dead.

Many of you are fixated on gender ideology. If you read Project 2025 and Curtis Yarvin, the mastermind behind it, the idea is to destroy great research universities. Utterly destroy them. On whatever pretext can be found. Trump and the Republicans happened to settle on trans issues and anti-semitism, but use your noggins. Under Title IX, as it had been interpreted by numerous legislatures and courts, what these Universities did in the past was completely legal. In fact, they had no choice under the laws then in effect. Trump came in, signed a couple of executive orders, and now made those things illegal. But most of what he's sent in lawyers to threaten with are actions that took place under a different legal regime. This is all after-the-fact extortion of the most blatant kind.

We need to round up all the Trump voters and gas them with Zyklon B.

Agreed R13. They basically voted for their own suicide by trump.

What will be happening in 4 years? Surely you're not counting on a fair election.

What unicorn fairyland does OP come from? There is no election-votes or democracy. It’s over Mary.

I'm scared that there is no point in thinking "in 4 years." He's been given unrestricted authority to do whatever he wants. Yes, I know that's doomsday thinking but all of this shit is so upsetting.

Why not just update to unisex restrooms a la Ally McBeal?

r18 You'll take a little break to think about not being unnecessarily rude.

It is upsetting and some days are better than others. I’m older so I've enjoyed America’s democracy longer than some others. It’s still heartbreaking and scary but then I really don’t want to live beyond 85. Good Luck kiddies.
