Hopefully, this will be the last we see of Pedro Pascal.
That guy is EVERYWHERE,, and we're all sick of seeing him.
Talk about over exposed!

The whole cast is full of actors that Hollywood is currently pushing on the public, but few are interested in. There’s not a movie star in the bunch.

Pedro Pascal was miscast. I don’t care how much people wanna claim otherwise.
Reed Richards wasn’t a swarthy Mexican dude and gay.
Them having the 3 men tossed around and the woman has to save the day and do the heavy lifting? People are tired of this trope.
The movie got good reviews and most people liked it but not enough to tell people to go see it. It doesn’t have word of mouth. People lost interest quick. Unlike Superman, which Marvel fanboys and Snyder cultists have called a failure. That one has had legs to stand on. This one is dropping rapidly.
Word of mouth helped Superman a lot. People found it fun and filled with hope and positivity, which is what a Superman film should feel like. Not dark and sad.

Reed and Sue don’t feel like a real couple in this movie. It feels like a lavender marriage. Go watch the movie. It feels like a frau married her gay best friend. No sexual attraction comes through, unlike Ioan and Jessica Alba.
Vanessa Kirby is a far better actress than Alba but Alba at least felt like she was into her husband and her relationship with Johnny felt like siblings.
The new Johnny is miscast. His looks are actually important to the character. No way anyone looked at Joseph Quinn and saw heartthrob

Another flop for Pedro Pascal.

I’ve heard this is actually lrettt good. From a lot of people, actually.
But I think the suits are heavily present in the advertising, and they have an old fashioned silliness to them. It actually turns out that that makes perfect sense, as the movie is set in a retro-future setting. But that fact doesn’t help the bad visual impression it makes.

^^^ pretty

Nah, I’m sick of Pascal.
Shut up and act, asshole. He’s not Mexican, btw.
Unfortunately, I’ll have to put up with him next year to see Grogu. 🙄

Wow, that is brand new information! Thanks for explaining this to us.

My only question is why do they all wear ugly turtlenecks?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 3, 2025 12:27 PM |
Saw it a few days ago and thought it was absolutely dreadful. A fucking MAGA neonatalist Christian fever-dream, and a perfect synecdoche for these awful times.
I hope that after a summer of successively underperforming superhero films, Hollywood might finally realise that other audiences exist apart from teenage boys.

Have you tried them with barbecue sauce and a side of slaw?

I cared more about the robot than the annoying CGI baby

I’ve avoided Pedro in mostly everything, but I stole a pretty good telecine copy of this.
He’s really bad at acting. So much exposition, lifelessly read. Not to mention the gross beard.
