Or are they as miserable as the rest of us?
Do you think OnlyFans models lead charmed lives?

Some are raking in a lot of money. So there's that.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | August 2, 2025 12:05 PM |
miserable. There are a handful that make money but they are full or regret too once you've laid yourself bare. It's one of the lowest common denominators to make money. Some people are natural exhibitionist while others are just lazy and can't think of another way to make a living. I saw a funny meme of a woman crying on the curb and it read "When the entire office has seen your pussy, but you still don't have enough money for rent."
by Anonymous | reply 2 | August 2, 2025 12:07 PM |
Maybe I'm wrong, but does anyone really care if someone is doing porn on the side? I'm old, but even I realize times have changed.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | August 2, 2025 12:10 PM |
It’s not that they do porn but so many have a “better than you” attitude as they fly first class, etc. because they happen to be hot.
Yeah. There’s some resentment.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 2, 2025 12:21 PM |
Some are really hot!
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 2, 2025 3:26 PM |
Mentally ill.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 2, 2025 3:28 PM |
A couple of friends do OnlyFans and they like the money (which isn't life changing, but is nice) but they are constantly under pressure to do something new. So there is financial pressure to do something. you're not quite comfortable with to goose the subscriptions.
Like - why do you think Pietro Boselli is suddenly showing his hole?

Siri, why do you think Pietro Boselli is suddenly showing his hole?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 2, 2025 3:38 PM |
I'd have to think you approach it with a 2-3 year plan and then get out. Why? Because of what R7 says - there's so many competitors around the WORLD - how do you keep your fanbase interested?
It seems like a lot more work than people realize - and you have to be constantly engaging and responding to DMs from the creepiest people.
Particularly women - there are probably 20x more women than men on the platforms - how do you cut through?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 2, 2025 3:52 PM |
Is there a place for us- the average, ugly people on this platform?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 2, 2025 4:18 PM |
R10 - there's a lid for every pot.
I think there's probably more of a market for girl/guy next door type than the sex bots.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 2, 2025 4:21 PM |
Some of us still have to dig drywall and plaster out of our nails!
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 2, 2025 4:34 PM |
This question sounds like the gay version of incel life - “why are the Chads so hot? Why do they get all the girls?”
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 2, 2025 4:36 PM |
Not really, r13.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 2, 2025 8:22 PM |
The issue is not being an OnlyFans whore. The main issue is that somehow this shit is being pushed as if it's some kind of "personal growth" or a history of success ala "The Pursuit of Happyness".

I have two friends who are doing sex work and on OF. (They’re the roommates of my closest friend.)
Honestly, I’m know that one of them is miserable, not specifically BECAUSE of the sex work. But I doubt it helps.
I also think the other one is unhappy, but I suspect his ego is too big too allow himself to recognize it.
Since having sex with others has been so incredibly lucrative for them, they seem to have lost all interest in sex purely for fun.
Plus, I have actually heard them make plans in terms of “I’ll need to see X number of clients over the next month in order to buy or pay for Y.”
I find their circumstances depressing. Their personalities seem to have changed.
I do understand that monetizing sex works well for certain individuals. But I’m convinced it’s a small minority compared to the number of people actually engaged in sex work.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | August 2, 2025 8:41 PM |
R16 - so incredibly lucrative - but they still have 2 roommates?
It may be lucrative for a short while - but then demand always changes.
Sounds like a recipe for fucking up the rest of your life. Particularly if you aren't also employed or on a career track.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 2, 2025 8:52 PM |
Hey, R17. I know the roommate thing sounds surprising if they’re making good money. But it’s a spacious apartment (2 BR, 2 BA) in a luxury building - pool, gym, riverview rooftop. And the two “workers” were a couple when they moved in. Plus, they were doing grunt work when they moved in. The career change and big bucks came later.

R9 that's what I've told people who've talked to me about doing any kind of sex work...have a plan and have an exit strategy. Do it with a goal of "I'm doing this to save up to go to school/buy a house/fund my future" and once you hit your target goal, within a couple years, get the fuck out.
Because the longer you do it, the more embeded you get into that "hustler" lifestyle which is not good for your mental health.
And, the hardcore OF talent who make serious bank, have to actually work very hard at it. (Ha Ha!) You need constant new content and that's a lot of work...not the sex part but finding reliable, safe, healthy partners plus there's all the actual editing and daily attention to posting. It's a full time job if you want to make real money. Though if you're bringing in huge amounts like the actual big name porn star types, then you can hire someone to do some of that shit but there's not many who make that much.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | August 2, 2025 9:51 PM |
It sounds absolutely grueling to maintain one. You might make a decent amount of money, but what have you sacrificed for it?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | August 2, 2025 11:41 PM |
[quote]Is there a place for us- the average, ugly people on this platform?
i dunno - the people I know who do OF are sort of bearish. If I posted their pix, the DL would explode in disgust at their fat fat fat bodies. But they both have very dedicated fans
by Anonymous | reply 21 | August 2, 2025 11:45 PM |
r4, ,and some people happen to be smart and fly first class because they used their smarts to get a high paying job.
I don't understand the resentment. At the end of the day, we're all just people trying to make it through this world.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 2, 2025 11:47 PM |
r10, there's people of all types making money on OF. As one of the posters above said, there are fat bears on there that DL would cringe at. There's also a lot of hot guys on there that aren't making much. You really have to promote yourself smartly in addition to having something people want to see.
I think you have to find your niche and then work it well. A truly average dude won't make a ton of money just doing strip tease stuff like a super hot guy might, but if he embraces some specific kink/fetish that is underserved, he has the opportunity to make decent money.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | August 2, 2025 11:53 PM |
on House on Fire, one of the Trans girls did OF on the side. She was pulling in 20-40K a month.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | August 2, 2025 11:55 PM |
very few people live charmed lives.

People love to speculate about OnlyFans and porn like it’s either some glamorous fantasy or a tragic downfall. But I actually work with people in the industry, and here’s the truth:
It’s a trade job. A hustle. A small business. Most of these performers would otherwise be working as waiters, strippers, barbers, car dealers, warehouse workers—you name it. And most are making the same amount of money and doing way less work for it.
And a lot of them are in their 30s or 40s. They’re not choosing between “college or porn.” They’ve already lived, held jobs, struggled, and then chose this. It’s not desperation, it’s a business move. A calculated choice to monetize what they have on their own terms.
Is it always healthy? No. But neither is retail, food service, or construction. Sex work just gets judged more because it involves sexuality, not because it’s more damaging.
Some performers are miserable. Sure. So are office workers, delivery drivers, and freelancers. It’s not the industry, it’s life. And the smart ones? They end up behind the camera, building something bigger.

I've heard it described as the wild west...I think it will end..but I can never understand how they can interact with their families or meet a decent nice guy. I do believe they like what they do, exhibitionist etc, as opposed to poor struggling actors in the past who did porn in order to eat. What I dont understand is once you've seen the guy u fancy in a few videos, are u Still interested to see more? Do u want them to give more, be more explicit...its a bizarre world.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | August 3, 2025 12:14 AM |
R19: It’s not a full-time job for most people.
Yes, the top 1% of creators with millions of followers might treat it like a full-time career. But for the majority, it’s nowhere near that level.
I know a popular porn star who makes six figures a year. Studios pay him a flat fee per shoot, cover his STI testing, flight, and hotel. He uses those paid trips to also shoot content for his OnlyFans.
In one trip, he might film 2–4 studio scenes and then collaborate with 2–4 other creators in places like Vegas, LA, or Miami. If he’s attending an award show, he’ll sometimes shoot with 10 or more guys in that week alone.
Over the course of a year, he ends up with around 35–40 scenes for OnlyFans—but that’s spread across about six non-consecutive weeks. Sometimes it’s just a long weekend, sometimes a full week here and there.
The rest of the time? He’s off. It’s not a full-time grind. It’s flexible, freelance-style work with bursts of activity.

How could you deal with the stress of the crazy stalkers?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | August 3, 2025 12:19 AM |
And to add to my R28 post. It’s not always noticeable but if you’re on Twitter and have a whole thing of porn stars, you can connect the timeline dots by hotel rooms. There’s new scenes they’re releasing right now that were shot back in January at the GayVN Awards.
Most porn stars are releasing 2-4 scenes a month on OnlyFans that’s 24-48 scenes a year. When they do content trips they work with as many creators in the area as they can. They can fit 6 scenes into 3 or 4 days.

so what does he do when he's not working.
what does an onlyfans reasonably successful worker do after? say he goes from grunt before only fans, to 100k year for a few years on onlyfans, the 100k being an average of the total made, then the last year is such reducing income he needs a job again. and he's been a cam whore. Has he been in university those years so he can pivot to a professional job and salary that can secure his life in his 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s? A lifetime of work is a slog. I dont think someone should turn down a passage where they make more than they could make doing something else. but still, cam whore? its very public. its not the same as turning private tricks to meet ends meet when you're in grad school.

R31: He just lives. He has a condo and cats and a summer home he’s at right now. I have no idea what he does most of the days, probably nothing.
The questions you’re asking could apply to over half the U.S. population. Statistically, most Americans would struggle to cover a $600 emergency. So why hold adult performers to a higher standard than people working retail, food service, or gig jobs?
When the money slows down, he’ll have to go back into his previous job field, which he has a passion for but not doing the long hours for. It’s not government or politics or business, he’ll be fine.
There are a lot of people over 25 who didn’t go to college, dropped out, or realized their original career path wasn’t it. You’re acting like you’ve never seen a 40-something bagging groceries or mopping floors. Not everyone made it. And that’s not unique to porn—it’s just life.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | August 3, 2025 12:38 AM |
r32 you are adding new information, I know all that. but if this guy got a condo and summer home out of PORN then he was far more successful at it than most. I gave the modest success as 500k total earnings.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | August 3, 2025 12:41 AM |
R33 His summer home looks like Camp Crystal Lake from Friday the 13th, it’s not fancy.
But he’s not just an OnlyFans creator, he’s a porn star so he’s recognizable and heavily marketed through studios.

ok thanks for the insight

There is a hot OF couple I subscribe to. They're pushing 40. They started OF 8 months ago. They're now in the top 1%. And they do Chaturbate as well.
They also both hold down professional jobs.
They're making a fucking fortune.
