Remember when the Bush girls got caught with fake IDs while going to college at UT Austin. lol

Barbara went to Yale.

Steven Ford was so handsome.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | July 30, 2025 12:58 PM |
He was so young, and restless, back in the day.

I like Amy Carter. She has good politics. I remember when she and Abby Hoffman got arrested in the mid-80s at UMASS/Amherst to protest against CIA recruitment on campus.
All the photos of her though made to show what a normal kid she is - Amy has a dollhouse! Amy has a treehouse! - make her look so terrible lonely.

Of course John John is going to lead this poll. Look at him. Melania and Sasha are my faves and not just cause their black.

Susan Ford was the one who planned Betty's intervention.

What a bunch of dogs! None of those kids is as sexy as my Ivanka. And she gives great back rubs!

I’ve met Lynda Bird Johnson. She’s a hoot.

Just imagine the dysfunction with the Reagan-Wyman and Reagan-Davis kids
by Anonymous | reply 10 | July 30, 2025 10:45 PM |
Patti Davis wasn’t told until she was 7 that she had two more siblings, Maureen and Michael.
Nancita was the mother from hell. She was too busy sucking Frank Sinatra’a cock to be an effective mother.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | July 30, 2025 10:52 PM |
R11 Maureen died young, at age 60 in the year 2000
by Anonymous | reply 12 | July 30, 2025 11:01 PM |
Yes she did, r12. She adopted a black girl from Uganda, Nancy’s only grandchild, with her husband.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | July 30, 2025 11:07 PM |
R13 did Nancy talk to the grandchild?
by Anonymous | reply 14 | July 30, 2025 11:08 PM |
I watch the 4th hour of Today when The View is in reruns, and to my surprise Jenna Bush has won me over.

Someone voted for Lurch dump??
by Anonymous | reply 16 | July 31, 2025 12:00 AM |
Ronald Reagan’s bio son is completely on the opposite political spectrum of his parents. He advocates for a lot of good causes.
He’s more liberal than the Clintons and Obamas combined lol.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | July 31, 2025 12:01 AM |
Did the Reagan son ever come out?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | July 31, 2025 12:07 AM |
I love Ronnie's atheist commercials.
"Not afraid of burning in hell."
by Anonymous | reply 19 | July 31, 2025 12:15 AM |
I like the way the Bush girls turned out. I love JFK and Jackie's kids, and I love Amy Carter and Chelsea Clinton. To be honest, with the exception of Trump and the Obama girls I am fond of almost everyone on the list. The Ford kids are very decent people. The reason I am withholding my opinion of the Obama girls is because it seems like they're still acting out their adolescence. And Barron? He's his father's son.

Reporter to Amy Carter, age 11: "Do you have a message for the children of America?"
"No."
😄👍
by Anonymous | reply 21 | July 31, 2025 12:59 AM |
R18 which son?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 31, 2025 11:13 PM |
Amy raised hell when she attended Brown University too, as I recall. I have always loved her.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | August 1, 2025 1:05 AM |
Amy was a later in life baby so was so much younger than her brothers. It’s an odd situation.

[quote]Of course John John is going to lead this poll.
Yes, it's really not fair to the other candidates.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 1, 2025 1:42 AM |
R13, neither of Nancy’s children had their own children. Ronnie & Jane’s adopted son had his own children, while their daughter had no children born to her. So neither Ron nor Nancy genetic line was continued beyond the first generation.

As much as I despised Nixon, I always had a soft spot in my heart for Julie. I was happy to see that she came out for Obama. Patricia, Jr., was another matter entirely.

I think you know what I'm going to say ..

I’m remembering Chelsea’s great cameo on Derry Girls. It was the perfect conclusion.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | August 1, 2025 2:13 AM |
I'm going with Sasha & Malia simply because it was funny to watch them roll their eyes at their father's "jokes". Most relatable thing ever.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | August 1, 2025 2:21 AM |
John John had no memory of life in the White House.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | August 1, 2025 2:25 AM |
R31: I wouldn't think so. My older, half-brother's father died when he three years-old. He has no real memories of father (or his funeral, or where they lived) other than photographs.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | August 1, 2025 2:40 AM |
I think Caroline being lumped in with John Jr. is dragging down his numbers in the poll.

On the topic of very early childhood memories, I had retained a vague memory of a car crashing into the house directly behind ours. In my memory, this incident occurred in the overnight hours. Relating this memory years later to an older sibling, I learned that it happened during daylight hours. But just recently, this same sibling started talking about the time I just missed being hit by a car, an event of which I had no recollection. That led me to recount my memory of what I thought was another incident, that of the car hitting the neighbor’s house. My sister said the two were of a piece, that I was almost hit by the car that crashed into the house. I find it interesting that my vague childhood recollection did not include any personal involvement.

For those whose lives end with some dementia-like conditions, there are whole swaths of their lives, from beginning to end, of which they have no memory.

While Malia and Sasha were absolutely charming little kids, they were uber protected and shielded from anything resembling a candid moment. I mean, except for the eye rolling on Turkey Day, we never really got a glimpse of their personalities. We were spoon fed carefully curated information about them. Now they're out in California doing their own thing, and I personally feel like I hardly know them at all. There's a distance there. I feel like they were shielded too much. All Presidential children have to be shielded to some extent, but Michelle went overboard with them.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | August 1, 2025 1:05 PM |
R6 We'll never know because we don't have another black family to compare them to.
Besides that there's nothing wrong with relating more to people who look like you. Even trees lean closer to other trees in their tree family. It's just nature.

I always liked the Bush girls. They were living their best life in Austin while their parents were in Washington. Definitely their dad's daughters. Laura was embarrassed.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | August 1, 2025 2:46 PM |
I'll bet Lynda and Luci can both play a mean game of Poker.

Tricia Nixon was a china doll of a person, and never really developed a personality until she became a lawyer's wife on Long Island in the 80s.
Julie Nixon, however, was far more interesting. She married young, moved to a dumpy Jacksonville beach apartment and worked as a teacher, then came back to Washington to help her family get through Watergate. By the end of the scandal, with Mrs. Nixon too shocked or drunk to care anymore, Julie became her father's true First Lady in public. She gave interviews, raised money, and defended her father as the decent and innocent man she truly believed he still was - right up to the end. Her parents let her go out there and make an ass of herself - knowing full well Dick was guilty and Julie was pissing into the wind - which makes them a special kind of awful.
In recent years, the girls manage their family legacy, often with controversy. They feuded for years over the Nixon Library - Julie wanted it run by professional historians and run as a presidential library, and Tricia wanted it controlled by the family and run as a personal shrine. They eventually made up, and the Nixon Library is now part of the NARA system.

Married into another presidential family, it was presumed by many that young David Eisenhower was going to be a future president himself.
