Dad, 76, executes daughter-in-law at family wedding in front of guests after she planned to divorce
An Illinois dad has been accused of killing his daughter-in-law execution style at a family wedding in front of a guest after she planned to divorce his son, according to the cops.
Roland Schmidt, 76, has been charged with the first-degree murder of Christine Moyer, 45, following the deadly shooting in the parking lot of a Marriott hotel in Schaumburg, located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, local police said.
Schmidt and Moyer were attending a wedding at the hotel Friday night when the father-in-law followed Moyer outside the venue and shot her in the head, according to the cops.
Prosecutors said, per ABC 7 Chicago, Schmidt shot his daughter-in-law execution style while she was talking to another family member. Local outlets reported, citing prosecutors, the shooting was witnessed by several family members.

Dementia?
Or if that's his son, then she was right to try to get out.
Fucking awful.

I think he deserves some consideration for having the courtesy to do it in the parking lot.

Somewhat off topic: what’s the point of taking centerpieces?

^^ what, are you just gonna leave them there?

R19 - they're usually thrown out - so might as well take them home and enjoy the flowers.
No host is taking home multiple centerpieces after an event.

Because they are pretty and it’s a remembrance of the day.
Depending on the actual centerpiece, they can be glass vases or some other container that you can use for something else.
They are highly coveted, but make sure the people hosting the party are letting you take them. More often than not, they are promised to certain friends or family or they are just simply rented out for the occasion and can’t be taken home.
One of my aunts was highly offended when she thought to take a centerpiece from my brothers wedding home but later we found out the mother of the bride had promised them to her people. 🥴

Has anyone else noticed the increasingly frequent misuse of the word “execute”? Isn’t execution a killing that’s carried out by the state or some such authority as a sentence of punishment? What that piece of shit old man did ought to be called homicide or, more commonly, murder.

Execution-style murders are two shots to the back of the head. I don't know of any state or authority that executes in that manner.

"execution style" is a phrase that has been used for a long time, r27. It just means the victim was killed immediately with one single shot. Snuffing someone out with zero chance of survival.

But conservative Christofascists are no different. Remember the landlord who executed a Muslim woman and her baby in the Chicago suburbs?
