Is it required that the person being proposed to in a public setting must always have their hand over their mouth?

It’s the first reaction. As a photographer who’s had to photograph proposals, it was the same exact photo every time.

Proposals in public settings are disgusting and appear to be much less of a "surprise" than the heifers make them out to be.

It's an evolutionary first reaction to enormous surprise, originating from when our ancestors had to train themselves not to make a sound when a beast would enter their cave.

Just like all videos of children receiving surprise puppies require the brats to turn half away and screw their lil fists into their eye sockets.

In most cases it would be better if they would have their hand over the mouth of the person proposing.

People who make a big public display of their relationship feel like a different species to me. I wouldn't want a public proposal and I definitely wouldn't put it online.

You seem lonely/sad, OP.

I hate when other people seem happy.
