Marlene Warfield aka Laureen Hobbs in Network is dead to me

That’s sad. I love her performance in Network. It’s so wild I’m sure even Angela Davis thought it was funny.

I don’t remember her doing anything else.

She was Victoria Butterfield on Maude as well.

He's plague, he's smallpox, he's typhoid! I don't want to follow his goddamn show! I want out of that 8 o'clock spot. I've got enough troubles without Howard Beale as a lead-in. You guys scheduled me up against "Tony Orlando and Dawn," NBC's got "Little House on the Prairie," ABC's got "The Bionic Woman"! You've gotta do something. You've gotta do something about Howard Beale. Get him off the air! Get him off. Do something. DO ANYTHING!

Marlene is the highlight of Network. I always look forward to her scenes when watching that classic.

Faye's best scenes were with her.

She only did 8 episodes of "Maude," but this first one is pretty funny.

There was a touching post about her on the old IMDb message boards.

There were so many posts on the "Network" page saying how great she was in the film. Somebody posted that they were her grandchild and that she was not an internet user. They showed her all the glowing reviews and she was very touched. She was surprised that people even remembered her from the film.
