Baby Sea Turtles Are Dying Off - Because of a MAGA Gas Station

So fucking sick.

Sea turtles hatch on land, and have to scurry to the water’s edge for safety before they can be eaten by waiting birds or mammals. If they get disoriented, they can also die from exposure. By instinct, they move toward bright light (because the stars and moon reflect off of the water), but in coastal communities with bright streetlights, they can easily get lost and die.

A new Buc-ee’s megastore (a giant gas station owned by MAGAts) has opened right next to a turtle habitat, and their giant parking lights are killing the turtles. But the state prefers the “jobs” of the gas station, and won’t enforce a lighting ordinance.
