The movie was decent overall but strange. It was charming and funny and sweet at times but then goes dysfunctional and the final act is just weird.
I didn’t dislike it, but didn’t like it either. I would give it 3/5 stars and that’s me being kind.
However, Molly Gordon is a ridiculously charming delight in this and Logan Lerman never misses as far as screen presence and talent goes. He’s so handsome in this too.
The film is about this couple (or what you believe to be a couple) named Iris and Isaac who are driving to a charming house in the charming middle of nowhere that they rented as a getaway. Isaac cooks because he enjoys to as it comforts him and they wine and dine and get to know one another while also hooking up a lot and enjoying each other.
One night Isaac wants to tie up Iris in bondage to try it during sex and she insists he get tied up, which he gladly does. After sex they’re talking a bit and she says she’s so happy they’re getting along so well and easily as this is their first couple trip together. He acts confused and tells her he isn’t looking for a relationship and she’s confused because they’ve been seeing each other EXCLUSIVELY for 4 months, which he says no they haven’t.
This leads to ..: a lot lol.
The first act is solid, middle pretty good and the final act just weird.
But still worth a single watch. Maybe you will like it. Based on critics reviews, the film seems divisive.
