Those scars have not been caused by a cat. But nor do they look particularly recent.

Knowing what we do about Scientology, I hope that she was at least able to get the care that was required when she needed it. Getting into adulthood relatively unscathed having been born into that crazy Hollywood circus can’t have been easy.

Cutters (especially in her age group) usually self-harm in locations that aren't visible to friends and family, much less global paparazzi.

I have scars like that on my left forearm and I was a cutter. Years of therapy and sobriety have passed and I am now healed and happy.

That looks like cutting to me. She is a beautiful young woman and I cannot imagine how hard it would be to have your weirdo Scientologist absentee father on the cover of every tabloid. I wish her the very best. Life can be so hard and your parents can make it so much harder.

Nah, R19. I was 16-17 when I was cutting and I didn't care about the location. Most cutters cut their arms.

There are definitely cutters who don't value privacy. Maybe she's one of them. But if you've worked in adolescent mental health you know kids that age try to hide it more often than not. Again, that doesn't mean there aren't exceptions. And as this page notes, it doesn't even mean they're good at cleaning up after themselves, so parents or roommates might find evidence of cutting in the trash or in their bedrooms even as they cover up their bodies.

Cuts notwithstanding, she looks like the average young college student you'd seeing hanging out at Starbucks talking away on her phone. Given her crazy life, she seems like a normal kid and that's a god thing.

My impression is her mom is fairly grounded for a Hollywood celebrity, so with her and the maternal grandparents being the principal family in her life Suri probably had a a decent upbringing once she'd been air evaced out of the craziness.
