Unfortunately, it's either this or tearing it down. If you want apartments inside, that is. I've seen the original façade preserved only when they remodelled former churches into gyms or stores.

Either the NY Post can be rabidly pro-billionaire (for example: their horror at Mamdani raising taxes on the rich) or they can freak out about wrecking NYC culture to make housing for said billionaires.
