The Greece women’s water polo team achieved a remarkable victory in the final of the World Cup, winning the gold medal after a stunning performance that swept aside Hungary, the pre-tournament favorite.

Greece defeated Hungary in the women’s water polo tournament final to win gold, marking the team’s first medal in 14 years.
Hungary walks away with their 3rd World Championships silver medal in four years. They also took silver in Doha last year as well as in Budapest in 2022.
In the bronze medal match, Spain bested the United States to round out the all-European podium.
