I went to Denny's for lunch

I had the Brisket Melt with a side of Onion Rings. You can ask me anything.

by Anonymousreply 90July 26, 2025 5:59 AM

You good Op. We don’t got no questions. Seize the day.

by Anonymousreply 1July 23, 2025 8:22 PM

Was My Fat Daughter there, and was she abusing the servers again?

by Anonymousreply 2July 23, 2025 8:22 PM

Have you been shitting your brains out since lunch ? Have you lost 20 pounds in the past hour ?

by Anonymousreply 3July 23, 2025 8:23 PM

I went to Denny’s last week and had the “55+ portion” of breakfast. It was still a lot of food and quite delicious I must say.

I’m a fan.

by Anonymousreply 4July 23, 2025 8:25 PM

One goes to Denny’s and does not order breakfast?

How much did you tip?

by Anonymousreply 5July 23, 2025 8:26 PM

Are you black? How did they treat you? Did they let you sit up front?

by Anonymousreply 6July 23, 2025 8:26 PM

I haven't been to Denny's in over 20 years. How was it?

by Anonymousreply 7July 23, 2025 8:28 PM

R2 - I didn't see her.

R3 - I have not, but if I lost 20#, I would be way too skinny

R4 - Yay!

R5 - I wasn't in the mood for breakfast. That brisket melt look good and it was. I tipped my usual 25%

R7 - That was the reason we decided to go, R7. We hadn't been in years. It's almost the same.

by Anonymousreply 8July 23, 2025 8:30 PM

I went to Dennys about a month ago. Never again. Never. Food was absolute garbage. Before then it had been a few years since I’ve been there.

by Anonymousreply 9July 23, 2025 8:34 PM

Doesn't the brisket melt have scrambled eggs on it? This sounds like an explosive diarrhea situation to me. And then onion rings!?!?!

by Anonymousreply 10July 23, 2025 8:36 PM

Does cheese make Denny's-grade brisket palatable or are you just a fat slob? Or both?

by Anonymousreply 11July 23, 2025 8:37 PM

Old gray mule she ain’t what she used to be

by Anonymousreply 12July 23, 2025 8:59 PM

[quote]Old gray mule she ain’t what she used to be

Is that where they got the brisket?

by Anonymousreply 13July 23, 2025 9:10 PM

I've always regretted it when I've ordered non-breakfast food from a Denny's. Even their burgers suck. It's really just a place for pancakes and bacon, imo.

by Anonymousreply 14July 23, 2025 9:23 PM

You ended up at Denny's for lunch. No one goes to Denny's.

by Anonymousreply 15July 23, 2025 9:24 PM

Have you shit yourself yet, OP?

by Anonymousreply 16July 23, 2025 10:20 PM

FAT WHORES rejoice!

by Anonymousreply 17July 23, 2025 10:22 PM

Did your pet refuse to eat what you brought home in the doggy bag?.

by Anonymousreply 18July 23, 2025 10:23 PM

Even I won't eat at Denny's...

by Anonymousreply 19July 23, 2025 11:57 PM

When was the last time you saw your dick without the aid of a mirror, OP?

by Anonymousreply 20July 24, 2025 12:02 AM

Did they have the red white and blue menu?

by Anonymousreply 21July 24, 2025 12:09 AM

Op, are you a FAT WHORE?

by Anonymousreply 22July 24, 2025 12:45 AM

Did you blow your server?

by Anonymousreply 23July 24, 2025 12:59 AM

R10 - Yes, there are eggs on the brisket melt. No explosive diarrhea - yet. The onion rings were just okay. Not great.

R11 - Not a fat slob. I'm 6'1, 170# The brisket was good for what it was. It wasn't prepared by Thomas Keller or anything.

R14 - I would agree that it's more of a breakfast place, but I wasn't in the mood for breakfast.

R15 - It was packed today. Not sure if it was a special occasion or not, but we had to wait 10 minutes for a table.

R16 - Still no bowel issues

R18 - No pets and no doggy bag.

R20 - 5 minutes ago

R21 - I'm not sure what that is. I guess it was a regular menu.

R22 - No

R23 - I did not. The server was an older Hispanic lady named Freida.

by Anonymousreply 24July 24, 2025 2:32 AM

Is it true it was named after predator Republican Dennis Hastert and there is a secret menu

by Anonymousreply 25July 24, 2025 2:36 AM

Waiting ten minutes for a table at Denny's? Do you live in a small town with very few restaurant options, OP?

by Anonymousreply 26July 24, 2025 3:04 AM

Did you get the AARP discount?

by Anonymousreply 27July 24, 2025 3:10 AM

Is there a God?

by Anonymousreply 28July 24, 2025 3:24 AM

R25 - I am not sure. I would recommend AI.

R26 - I did not

R27 - No. God is a lie we tell ourselves to be able to sleep at night.

by Anonymousreply 29July 24, 2025 4:01 AM

I have to redo this one. Sorry for the double post.

R25 - I am not sure. I would recommend AI.

R26 - I live in Los Angeles

R27 - I did not

R28 - No. God is a lie we tell ourselves to be able to sleep at night.

by Anonymousreply 30July 24, 2025 4:02 AM

Denny's has never disappointed me.

by Anonymousreply 31July 24, 2025 4:19 AM

I ate at a Denny's in Hollywood circa 1989 and there were STARS in there!

Jackie Mason!!!!!

Hunky Mario van Peebles!!!!!!

(not together)

I went and looked it up...looks like it's still there at Sunset and Gower!

by Anonymousreply 32July 24, 2025 4:56 AM

I have had some truly terrible meals at Denny's. But people on the west coast still go to them all the time.

On the other hand I had a pretty good meal at IHOP the other day. I was surprised.

by Anonymousreply 33July 24, 2025 5:15 AM

This makes me want a rueben sandwich. Dressing on the side.

by Anonymousreply 34July 24, 2025 5:48 AM

[quote] Did your pet refuse to eat what you brought home in the doggy bag?

OP is a FAT WHORE. There were no leftovers.

by Anonymousreply 35July 24, 2025 5:52 AM

[quote]This makes me want a rueben sandwich.

Oh, dear.

by Anonymousreply 36July 24, 2025 2:21 PM

That is surprising, r33. I would consider IHOP to be a step down from Denny's. Shari's is the best diner chain.

by Anonymousreply 37July 24, 2025 3:20 PM

When I was young (20s) I was friends with an older gay man (60s) and he would always suggest going to Denny's because it was very close to his apartment. So I did. I'm still here.

by Anonymousreply 38July 24, 2025 3:28 PM

I haven't gone back since they discontinued the Southern Slam which came with biscuits and gravy.

by Anonymousreply 39July 24, 2025 3:37 PM

[quote]Southern Slam

Was it two eggs, two strips of bacon or two sausage links, a side of grits, and a open-faced biscuit with sausage gravy?

^ Just looking at that photo gives me diarrhea.

by Anonymousreply 41July 24, 2025 3:45 PM

That's it R40.

by Anonymousreply 42July 24, 2025 3:47 PM

The surprisingly delectable Reuben Sandwich doesn’t typically photograph well.

by Anonymousreply 43July 24, 2025 4:10 PM

Eating the placemat and paper napkins would be more favorful, tender and have less chemicals than the brisket at Denny's.

by Anonymousreply 44July 24, 2025 4:12 PM

I'll have a Reuben Kincaid!

by Anonymousreply 45July 24, 2025 4:15 PM

I like Dennys. The food is consistent. Ours never answer their phone so ordering to go is difficult.

by Anonymousreply 46July 24, 2025 4:57 PM

R46: Denny's "to go"? I think Denny's "makes" you go - and not in a good way - but Denny's "to go"? I don't think so...

by Anonymousreply 47July 24, 2025 5:37 PM

Give it a rest, scat troll at R16/R47.

by Anonymousreply 48July 24, 2025 5:40 PM

OP is a fat whore.

by Anonymousreply 49July 24, 2025 5:42 PM

When you walked in, did you yell out, "What the fuck is up, Denny's?!"

by Anonymousreply 50July 24, 2025 6:13 PM

Denny's is 3 AM food when you're somewhere where nothing else is open.

by Anonymousreply 51July 24, 2025 6:18 PM

Healthy at any weight!

by Anonymousreply 52July 24, 2025 6:19 PM

That being said, I grew up rather poor and the Moons Over My Hammy was a real treat as a kid.

by Anonymousreply 53July 24, 2025 6:21 PM

You seem fat.

by Anonymousreply 54July 24, 2025 6:23 PM

You type and post fat, OP.

by Anonymousreply 55July 24, 2025 6:45 PM

Are you colored?

by Anonymousreply 56July 24, 2025 7:14 PM

Any other 3rd grade insults?

by Anonymousreply 57July 24, 2025 8:01 PM

Sounds fun. How much $?

by Anonymousreply 58July 24, 2025 8:12 PM

I loved Moon Over My Hammy when I was in high school.

Does a Reuben always have coleslaw or does it sometimes have sauerkraut? Are there different versions or totally different sandwiches?

by Anonymousreply 59July 24, 2025 8:16 PM

OP, you won't lose the 300 pounds of excess weight you are carrying by eating at Denny's!

by Anonymousreply 60July 24, 2025 8:23 PM

[quote]R59 Does a Reuben always have coleslaw or does it sometimes have sauerkraut? Are there different versions or totally different sandwiches?

I believe it’s always sauerkraut. Coleslaw wouldn’t have the same contrasting tang.

by Anonymousreply 61July 24, 2025 10:22 PM

A true reuben is sauerkraut. I think cole slaw on a sandwich is called a Rachel.

by Anonymousreply 62July 24, 2025 10:30 PM

R31 - I hadn't been in a long time and it wasn't awful. I enjoyed it.

R33 - I haven't been to an IHOP since college, I will have to try that next.

R34 - I've never been a fan of reubens.

R37 - I've never been to a Shari's.

R40 - I could eat the egg and sausages, but that gravy thing touching the eggs is not good for me.

R41 - Way too much diarrhea talk on this thread.

R44 - The brisket at Denny's was fine for what it was.

R46 - I just saw they're on DoorDash

R50 - I didn't. What does that reference?

R51 - Yes and no

R55 - Aren't you sweet

R58 - With tip it was $84

R60 - Any more jokes about my weight?

by Anonymousreply 63July 25, 2025 12:14 AM

[quote]R63 I've never been a fan of reubens.

Have you really given them a chance?

They need to be eaten in a diner after dark, and almost greasy.

by Anonymousreply 64July 25, 2025 12:22 AM

R64 - Corned beef, sauerkraut, and thousand island just doesn't seem like a taste treat to me.

by Anonymousreply 65July 25, 2025 12:25 AM

Look - I was like you, once! This was my dad’s sandwich of choice and seemed highly suspect.

Then one night, bored in a NYC diner as an adult, I ordered one and… well, they are a very decadent experience.

[quote]Corned beef, sauerkraut, and thousand island just doesn't seem like a taste treat to me.

Don’t forget the buttery, grilled rye bread. That’s another flavor layer.

No wonder Americans are morbidly obese.

by Anonymousreply 67July 25, 2025 12:36 AM

A Rachel has cole slaw, but it also has turkey or pastrami instead of the corned beef.

by Anonymousreply 68July 25, 2025 12:55 AM

A pathetic and colorless substitute!

by Anonymousreply 69July 25, 2025 12:57 AM

$84 bucks for dinner at Denny's for two?!?!?!? WTF?

How many bottles of champagne did you order?

Oh, and Shari's is practically dead...only 10 restaurants left.

by Anonymousreply 70July 25, 2025 4:01 AM

You order online or by phone, they bring it out to you in parking lot. It is not surgical procedure R47.

by Anonymousreply 71July 25, 2025 4:09 AM

It's not that it's impossible, R71, but food that tastes like shit mere steps from the kitchen will do the opposite of improve during the car ride home.

by Anonymousreply 72July 25, 2025 4:24 AM

Spending close to $100 to eat at Denny's when you live in a city with as many dining options as LA is kind of stupid.

by Anonymousreply 73July 25, 2025 8:01 AM

R73 - I don't normally go around checking prices, but two entrees, a couple of beverages, and a tip, $84 seems more than reasonable to me.

by Anonymousreply 74July 25, 2025 1:23 PM

Stealth scat thread.

by Anonymousreply 75July 25, 2025 1:36 PM

R74 Not at fuckin' Dennys.

I went and looked up their menu. Even if you grab their priciest dinner options at $20 each it seems a stretch to have an $84 tab for two but....different strokes for different folks.

by Anonymousreply 76July 25, 2025 9:22 PM

R76, OP is right. Your math is off.

Two entrees at $20 each = $40

If OP and his friend had two beers each, that’s an additional $24.

Now we’re up to $64, without starters, additional sides, dessert, coffee, tax or tip.

Lunch or dinner for two at Denny’s could easily cost 💲84.

by Anonymousreply 77July 25, 2025 9:48 PM

Who looks at a menu and thinks the price of an entree equals the final bill? Do you drink tap water, forgo tipping, and live in some magical tax-free realm?

by Anonymousreply 78July 25, 2025 11:00 PM

I have a Dennys near my place and it’s always packed on weekends when I walk by. Am I right to assume most of the customers are great big fat people?

by Anonymousreply 79July 25, 2025 11:07 PM

Yes but you're wasting an opportunity to have a much better meal, r77. My point wasn't that $84 is objectively an astronomical amount of money but it's enough money to buy a decent meal at a better family-owned restaurant.

by Anonymousreply 80July 25, 2025 11:10 PM

R80, you miss the point entirely. Also, you haven't eaten out in a long time if you think $84 is a lot for two people with tip and beverages. Yes, even at a Denny's.

by Anonymousreply 81July 26, 2025 12:00 AM

Well, yeah it IS a lot for a meal at Denny's because I'm not dumb enough to order non-breakfast food at a place that is known for breakfast food.

Or, order beer or dessert.

Unless you live somewhere with limited restaurant choices, I don't personally get why you'd choose to have a "fine meal" at Denny's but again, different strokes for different folks.

by Anonymousreply 82July 26, 2025 3:15 AM

R82, I suppose many of us agree with you. But even here in NYC, places like Applebees, Olive Garden, Red Lobster and Dallas BBQ are often packed - with both tourists and locals. I don’t really get it. And I don’t buy the argument that the chains are more affordable. There are tons of better nicer restaurants here that are competitive price-wise with the chains.

I suppose a lot of folks have dead taste buds, or they only want what’s familiar.

by Anonymousreply 83July 26, 2025 4:48 AM

[Quote] Lunch or dinner for two at Denny’s could easily cost $84.

Almost any meal, ANYWHERE, will cost that these days. A sad fact of life.

To refocus OP: how was the brisket sandwich? Also, which Denny’s location?

by Anonymousreply 84July 26, 2025 4:49 AM

[quote]Unless you live somewhere with limited restaurant choices, I don't personally get why you'd choose to have a "fine meal" at Denny's but again, different strokes for different folks.

Nowhere in this post did I write that I went to Denny's looking for a fine meal. We went to Denny's because we hadn't been to a Denny's in a long time and just wanted to try it out again. We may do the same with IHop, Bob's Big Boy, and Waffle House very soon. None of this has anything to do with local chains or fine dining. For goodness' sake, take the stick out of your ass.

[quote]To refocus OP: how was the brisket sandwich? Also, which Denny’s location?

The brisket sandwich was fine. I enjoyed it for what it was. North Hollywood.

by Anonymousreply 85July 26, 2025 5:12 AM

Denny's serves alcohol now? I haven't been to one in at least 15 years. I don't remember them serving back then.

by Anonymousreply 86July 26, 2025 5:24 AM

I’ll just have a bit of dust.

by Anonymousreply 87July 26, 2025 5:31 AM

Back in the day, Bob’s in Toluca Lake had a great and dependable burger. Almost the equal to Hampton’s, but without the vibe or hipness factor. Haven’t been in years.

by Anonymousreply 88July 26, 2025 5:50 AM

I used to work there in college, and before my shifts started ahead of the weekend-mornings family breakfasts rush, I’d get a free order of their Eggs Benny. Then on workweek nights during the winter if it was especially cold out, when nobody was around if business was slow I’d pour a small ladle of their constantly warmed hot fudge at the dessert station, and drink it.

by Anonymousreply 89July 26, 2025 5:54 AM
