I may end up actually liking Rupert if he ends up destroying him. He needs to get the NY Post under control.

Okay R1, but they get to keep their legendary snarky headlines.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | July 23, 2025 7:30 PM |
That legion of Trump-defending bots under the tweet.... it's gotten so much worse since I was last there, dear lord.

by Anonymous | reply 7 | July 23, 2025 7:41 PM |
So, maybe I’m just a dummy, but hasn’t this Epstein stuff (for the most part) been out in the public for a long.
We’ve all seen the pics.
So, is Elon, Rupert etc going after Rump now? Cause we know republicans in congress roll over for everything he wants
by Anonymous | reply 8 | July 23, 2025 8:06 PM |
I don’t think the drip drip drip release will stop. I imagine some of this is Elon’s fault. He had access to far more than has been reported. Whether he, or unhappy folks at the DOJ and FBI or somebody else is the Journal’s source, it would appear they have more to roll out. Last week it was the enigmatic, illustrated birthday greetings. Today we have stories about Epstein attending Trump’s wedding and how Bondi told him he was in the files before he lied and said she had not. They’re going to keep dripping and he’ll keep lying. How it works out is anyone’s guess. It took two years to bring Nixon down.
But also, as they’ve said, Trump and Epstein’s victims are reminded of what he did to traumatize them when others come forward and in some cases, the renewed publicity gives them the confidence to go public. That’s another bit of gasoline on the fire. Keep throwing gasoline on a fire and somebody’s going to get burned. Let’s hope it’s the guilty fucks, because too many times in the past they’ve walked.

by Anonymous | reply 11 | July 23, 2025 8:40 PM |
The latest news really puts that idiot James Comer on the spot. He can subpoena Maxwell all he wants, but all he's going to get are a bunch of "I don't recalls." Maxwell doesn't know how much the WSJ knows, and any coverup she tries to throw Trump's way, is likely to be met by the WSJ with evidence to the contrary.

by Anonymous | reply 15 | July 23, 2025 8:53 PM |
I'm happy to see the fat cunt squirm, but I wonder how this will lead to his downfall in any way.
His own cronies control Congress. Even if he murdered someone on live TV, they'd never impeach him.
They will NEVER turn on him. Never. The voters are the only ones who can do that now, and the next election is more than a year away.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | July 23, 2025 8:54 PM |
I only need 5 House members to turn. But even that sounds unlikely. It may work if the voters in such five districts turn. But again - not likely. And I certainly don't want J.D. Vance to take his place. At this point I settle on "messy situation".
by Anonymous | reply 17 | July 23, 2025 8:58 PM |
I love how the latest WSJ bombshell exploded shortly after the news came out about Comer's subpoena ROFL. Now that subpoena is totally nullified ROFL.

[quote] I'm happy to see the fat cunt squirm, but I wonder how this will lead to his downfall in any way.
The downfall is coming. With all these revelations, Trump will be required to leave office in three and a half years. Mark my words.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | July 23, 2025 9:08 PM |
I'm sure nothing formal will ever take him down. No trial. No conviction. No sentencing. No impeachment. All those have happened and none of them have had the slightest effect.
But there is something right now that is driving him absolutely batshit crazy, so much that he's lashing out like a crazy bitch at his own supporters. Something is making him very, very nervous and it seems to be literally driving him crazy. Not sure how it ends, maybe in an insane asylum. But I do agree it will not be because any group of people in Washington starts acting like a real government and going through the proper steps to get rid of a clearly demented president. I suspect it will all be more chaotic than that.

Interesting that Trump has alienated to powerful allies (Musk and Murdoch) in a short space of time. I wonder if this is Vance's influence? Maybe Vance is trying to sabotage Trump by encouraging him to burn bridges.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | July 23, 2025 9:43 PM |
R24, she's batshit but she's a rape survivor so this may have been her tipping point with Trump.
I read an article last night about Epstein's brother calling Trump a liar (you don't say) when he denied ever visiting Epstein's office. The brother said he was there many times. It doesn't sound damning on its own but the amount of lies he's been caught in over the past few weeks are really beginning to add up.
Video Below: Watch his ridiculously OTT incredulous reaction when asked about Epstein. He is usually a seamless liar, but this soap level reaction shows how rattled he is.

At R28 Bondi attempts to 'answer' the question efficiently. But her very mention of child porn in the context of Epstein in the presence of the defensive President to her left only increases serious concern about Trump's friendship link. Trump's 'disbelief' about this still being a talking point merely fills space till the next phase of revelation. He'll soon need to believe that the whole world is talking about this.

If I were a politician, I would back the guy who raves insanely, especially when the voters in question don’t believe the news media anymore. Insane comments trump staid headlines.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | July 24, 2025 2:02 PM |
I have noticed the press headlines have shifted. It's no longer "GOP cuts Social Security, how this is bad for Democrats" but "Gop House under Speaker Johnson recesses early to prevent vote on releasing Epstein files". I do think cracks are in the dam, however slight they may be. And there's blood in the water where Trump is concerned. Will this eventually bring him down? We'll see, but he's never faced this much opposition from all sides.
And yes, we may eventually wind up with fascist makeup boy Jaydine but we have to fight the dragon that's currently in front of us.

by Anonymous | reply 77 | July 24, 2025 5:17 PM |
Especially since Trump brought it entirely on himself, r77! I never understood why he campaigned on making the Epstein files public when it was something he could have done during his first term in office, and I also didn't understand why he was never called on that.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | July 24, 2025 5:24 PM |
If Murdoch is done with Dump (and the very fact WSJ is reporting on it, indicates he is , then Dump is done like a Turkey (butterball) on Thanksgiving.. The plan seems to be use the WSJ platform, the only CREDIBLE media outlet Murdoch owns to get the reporting confirming what everyone already knows out there and force Dumps removal. Rumor is the WSJ is sitting on a series of revelations yet to be dolled out. If Murdoch wasn't gunning for Dump, he would have killed the sty ory. Instead it looks like he's personally driving it.
Murdoch has known about Dump's "proclivities" for years, this isn't "news" its a targeted take down. For whatever reason, Murdoch has determined that Dump has outlived his usefulness and presents a threat to his empire. I think they want Vance in there to push through the rest of their agenda but that will be tough.
Dump has never been in the position of not being able to rally his base or his friendly media to his side when a crisis hits. He is in that uncharted territory now. I expect him to either have or fake a major health event soon perhaps after having secured a promise of a pardon from Vance. That won't happen if Murdoch doesn't want it to happen.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | July 24, 2025 5:31 PM |
May you live in interesting times, R79. I could absolutely see the, uh, trumped up (sorry) health issue happening.
Time will tell. Trump has had the luck of the devil his entire damn life. I give him 85% chance of wriggling his fat ass out of this one, too. I'd welcome being wrong.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | July 24, 2025 5:41 PM |
It’s only the WSJ version of Murdoch. The Fox News version of Murdoch is not giving this any play at all.

[quote]For whatever reason, Murdoch has determined that Dump has outlived his usefulness and presents a threat to his empire.
It'd be fascinating to know the tipping point which made Murdoch press this button. Famously Murdoch responded to Trump's first triumphal call to him as President by later calling the new POTUS 'a fucking idiot.' Seems Trump's no longer even a useful idiot. Maybe new repulsive evidence came Murdoch's way which urged him to play the white knight pro bono publico this late in his dubious career.

R82 the difference is that the WSJ news room, like at any good paper, is independent and gets no “thumb on the scale” from the publisher. The Journal’s op-ed page is under no obligation to be fair. Fox News observes no bright line in the news room.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | July 24, 2025 7:09 PM |
