He was on one of the ILL "Hollywood" eps. And he bared his chest in The Last Time I Saw Paris. Not bad.
In the early 1970s, while living in L.A., I knew people who were acquainted with Johnson's ex-wife, Eve. They referred to her as "Evie" and said she was still living in the 1940s. Evie got a small percentage of Van's income. I was the very least bit acquainted with his daughter Schuyler. She and Johnson had long been estranged and never reconciled. Schuyler was a lesbian. She had some talent and could have done something in show business but never got going with it.
