Paramount/CBS already said they were losing money on Colbert’s show and have been for years. They kept him on for a long time regardless but finally bit the bullet and canceled his show. If you’re losing a company money, yet alone 8 figures annually, expect to be canned

R15 This is a win for Skydance, because Paramount had previously signed them to a 10-year, $3 billion agreement. Now instead of going to court to try to throw that agreement out (which they could have lost), Skydance gets to lop that agreement in half, while the South Park guys get the same rate as before, just for half the years.

So $300 million a year - I think that may be the max. They probably put some sort of performance metrics in place - to pay $1.5 billion without it would be stupid.

Oh and if Colbert's show was losing money - they wouldn't have extended his contract in 2023 with the same high pay rate.
