She's been compared to "the black Dita Von Teese," because she's a gorgeous pinup, but where Dita strips, Tammi sings. And beautifully so, without the oversinging and runs American Idol-style.
I've seen her twice: once doing 1950s R&B (Lavern Baker, Ruth Brown) and once doing Motown. Just flawless both times and the audience was in love. She could probably make a fine living as a Diana Ross tribute act but she just wants to be herself.
I thought DL might appreciate Tammi.
