OP, I don't necessarily hate golf itself. I hate the whole culture that surrounds it, however.

The best though is listening to golf matches on SiriusXM radio.

Great game to play, boring one to watch.

I hope a lot of golf courses are paved over and new construction is built. Too many were created - particularly in areas where they shouldn't be - the southwest or any place with water insecurity.

There are way too many golf courses and too few playing on them.

I feel like 9 holes is enough. I too hate the culture around it - UMC or upper class riding around in buggies, wearing stupid outfits while getting drunk.

I actually like to watch golf on TV.

There's an ASMR-like quality to watching golf matches that I loved as a kid coming home crashing for a nap before the TV. But because of Trump, golf is too tainted for me now, I don't even want to think about it. And the environmental damage for a single golf course, that's another thing.

Unless you invite someone over to specifically watch something, it seems rather rude and awkward to have the TV on.

I started watching golf years ago, Sunday afternoons, reading the paper, a blizzard roaring outside. It was just nice to be reminded that there was someplace warm and sunny. I was a real Tiger Woods fan, I was actually in Thailand when he won the Masters the first time and the Thais went wild. Then he went on that streak that was so amazing to watch.

OP, it use to baffle me too how people could watch it. Then I discovered what R16 found out.

A lot of those golfers have nice bodies. R16 pointed to the junk. I'm more interested in their butts...
