TOO MUCH, the new series starring DL fave Megan Stalter

Why can’t I find a thread on this show? And I mean a proper thread - not a Lena Dunham thread that is only TOO MUCH adjacent.

Also, Megan Stalter is as awful here as she is on HACKS.

Lens Dunham aside, I think it's great! It's a kooky, chaotic roller coaster. I couldn't disagree with you more. I think Stalter is brilliant in it.

You can see her thinking “what are the words that come after these?”

by Anonymousreply 2July 22, 2025 12:06 AM

She's horrible and I hope she goes away soon.

I love her in small doses on Hacks.

Although, the best thing she ever has done was the Pride Month Butter bit she posted on Tiktok that went viral years ago.

Her low key stuff is pretty good so far. Surprisingly. But I am still on the first episode.

It's wildly uneven. Episode 4 with Naomi Watts as a rich bitch is great. Episode 5 (Megan's backstory in New York), even better, and Stalter does some fine work.

I couldn't even get through Episode 6. Lens at her most self-indulgent.

Will Sharpe very good as a type of arty indie-boy who actually isn't very talented.

Watched the whole thing... Stalter very uneven - perhaps best said, she's an acquired taste. Dunham can produce some astonishingly moving dialogue, is able to capture some idea of the linguistic/cultural zeitgeist, but has no sense of plot.

Spoiler Alert: the end episode was appallingly bad - direction and plot. The demonstration scene was cheap production and looked like a bad student film. The romantic happy ending was just dropped out of the blue.

I loved it but she's from Hell. Will Sharpe was great and there were some very funny moments but she needs to die in a grease fire.

Also, that poor fucking dog. Actual dog, not Megan.
