Criminals allowed to own guns again!

"For too long, countless Americans with criminal histories have been permanently disenfranchised from exercising the right to keep and bear arms—a right every bit as constitutionally enshrined as the right to vote, the right to free speech, and the right to free exercise of religion—irrespective of whether they actually pose a threat," said Attorney General Pamela Bondi. "No longer."

Well, I guess it keeps them from having to put their firearms in their wives' names.

In my neighborhood, losing your driver's license just means you drive without one and hope you don't get caught. Convicted felons just have their wives buy their guns. No big deal.

Laws only mean something to people who respect the law -- hasn't Trump taught you anything?

Felons can’t vote either.

by Anonymousreply 6July 20, 2025 10:34 PM

...but they can become President!

by Anonymousreply 7July 20, 2025 10:41 PM

What makes you think that, R6?

Felons in FL can petition to get their voting rights back. Yes, Florida makes it extraordinarily difficult to do so, but it can be done. People have done it.

Just sayin'.

Does this apply to Black people, too?

by Anonymousreply 9July 21, 2025 10:51 AM

The only color that matters is green.

by Anonymousreply 10July 21, 2025 11:07 AM

Because they’re more likely to be MAGA minded or controlled. And they need a lot of ICE officers.

[quote] a right every bit as constitutionally enshrined as the right to vote

But as she knows, Republicans think former felons should lose the right to vote.
