John Hughes' "Some Kind of Wonderful" - What did you think?

I’ve always felt Some Kind of Wonderful doesn’t get enough credit. Great soundtrack, solid performances, and a love triangle that actually feels grounded. It’s got that classic John Hughes heart, but with a bit more edge. What are your thoughts on it?

Loved Watts and the character Elias Koteas played. The rest, meh.

I want a fan of all the hard core nudity and violence.

There are pieces of the film I don’t believe. The earrings? Come on. The painting in the gallery? Stop it, John.

It was made in response to Pretty in Pink and its original and official endings.

That said, I like the a lot. GREAT soundtrack. Great performances.

I still say, "Skill beyond skill" after parallel parking, sometimes.

I am old.

My favorite of the Hughes films. Keith's sister should be a DL icon. (Not Candice Cameron)

Eric Stoltz was so fucking hot back then. That's all I remember about it.

One of my all time favorites. I’ve owned the soundtrack on every format- vinyl, cassette, CD… I saw it in the theater when I was 11 years old, and loved it more than the previous John Hughes releases. I don’t know why this one captivated me so much but it did.

It's my favorite John Hughes film; just right under "Sixteen Candles". It lacks humor so I can see why it doesn't come up much when people bring up Hughes' work, but it's excellent.

In 2012 EW reunited Eric Stoltz and Mary Stuart Masterson to discuss the film.

My favorite scene was when Amanda’s bitchy friend tries to hit on the long-haired guy from detention (the one with the trembling lip) at the party.

What’s creepy is that Eric and Cher were dating when they were filming Mask, but Eric called Cher Ma on set.

One issue I had with the movie is that all the actors looked far too old to convincingly play high school students.

Elias Koteas is hot
