I don't love her singing voice, but my first live encounter with her -- playing Sally Cato in one of Charles Busch's one-off AUNTIE MAME readings -- I was very impressed by her presence and panache. Also, coincidentally enough, I watched her LAW & ORDER episode last night -- also terrific.

Then there's THE JAZZ SINGER . . .

She's very down to earth and an all-around lovely superstar. Most children of superstars aren't nearly as well-adjusted as she is.

She deserved an Oscar nomination for The Jazz Singer.

Agree. Lucie is immensely talented. She could have worked more, but she decided that she wanted a healthy family life with well-adjusted kids.

She was quite good in a late-season episode of Law & Order, IIRC. I also remember that she played a rather convincing dykey detective in an episode of Murder She Wrote.

Does anyone know where in Palm Springs she lives? I always thought she lived in Rancho Mirage or wherever Lorna Luft lives.

A lot of times they say Palm Springs - but it's actually a neighbor city.

She's doing a live show this week in Palm Springs.

I've been to the cabaret venue and it's pretty great, I genuinely wish I could see her show.
