If we're talking about Hollywood cinema, it's Gone with the Wind. It's got everything. And a good argument can be made for The Godfather 1.
The Wizard of Oz should be on your list. And Singin' in the Rain.

I'd say Shadow of a Doubt is the better Hitchcock film. I'd even put North by Northwest and Psycho ahead of Vertigo, but critics love it. As far as greatest film ever, I'd say Chinatown.
