Kathy Bates beats Angela Lansbury as the oldest Primetime Emmy nominee

Well, if it was going to be *anybody*, it was going to be Kathy Bates.

I’m sure she’s just thrilled to have her age brought front and center.

The Matlock socials posted a video of the entire cast and crew applauding her, bowing, handing her flowers, all lined up. It’s weird. Bates is certainly full of herself.

I don't think Kathy Bates is full of herself at all. I think she seems very down-to-earth and self-deprecating. She always has been.

And let us not forget one of her first roles, playing a "big girl," no less.

If she didn't win one for AHS: Coven, then she deserves this one.

R11, we had a bunch of threads this months about her recent interviews in which she says that she’s wonderful, that she’s beyond talented, and on and on and on. Maybe she was better before but now she’s insufferable like Jamie Lee.

R12, that makes no sense. People should win based on performance not because they’re owed one. That’s Zoomer shit.
