I've heard some really loopy variations on "suicide", which apparently is a triggering word for the young. (An argument in its favour, if you ask me.)

"Unalived" is only one I've heard. I get not wanting to say "committed suicide" because that does hark back to the days where its illegality was the main issue, but surely "suicide" by itself is as factual as "murder"? Or are we not allowed to say "murder" any more.

[r40] Nowadays, the proper phrasing is "attempted suicide" if the person is unsuccessful and "completed suicide" if the person finished the task.

But you're right, people will certainly go to extremes to avoid using the word "suicide."

I've never heard "unalived" before, but given PC phrasing like "housing challenged" "differently abled" that people use these days, I'm not surprised

I've heard some people in the medical field use the term "suicided," which I guess is better than committed or completed(!). Still, it sticks out to the ear so much that it draws further attention to the word IMO.
