If you can, buy a block of stock (100 shares) in your electricity supplier. The dividends will make the high summer bills easier to take.

If your electricity supplier is not an investor-owned, do your research and buy a block in a company that has a consistent dividend payout.

But big fire season is yet to come in California.

Yes, heat index of 105 in the South today. I wish it would rain to lower the temperature.

June 15 - August 15 is DEAD TO ME!

by Anonymousreply 6July 14, 2025 9:16 PM

R6 - I feel like for much of Southern California it's more like July 15 - September 15 is the "real" summer (of feeling baked alive outside).

by Anonymousreply 7July 14, 2025 9:21 PM

at least in later August you can gasp for air at midnight (in NY)

by Anonymousreply 8July 14, 2025 9:29 PM

July, Julie ... they're both CUNTS.

by Anonymousreply 9July 14, 2025 9:38 PM

It's not even half over yet. I don't know how I'm going to live through August.

by Anonymousreply 10July 14, 2025 9:40 PM

I don't see how I'm gonna make it through the summah.

Only one more month to the 2025 green peanut season!

There is that good thing.

I'm r1 (NorCal) and we have only broken the 90s about 5 or 6 times since summer began, which is highly unusual. Usually it's in the 90s (with some 100 days here and there) from mid June forward through at LEAST mid September.

Instead, we've been in the mid 70s - 80s almost all summer so far, and we have another week of 70s forecast for us as well (with a forecast of 81 this Sunday). Gardeners are the ones having the hardest time, and (although I am also a gardener), I've realized that 78 - 82 is my sweet spot. I could live like this year round.

Sigh. I know I just brought a fiery hell upon us in stating that with my written words.
