Jeremy Corbyn's yet-to-be-launched new party tied with Labour in first poll

Oh sweet karma.

Corbyn's been gone for years and yet still being blamed for Labour's unprecendentedly rapid collapse in support. Might as well take full credit now and send the Blairites and pound shop Cameron aka KKKeir SStarmer to the graves of history where they belong.

No one here cares.

by Anonymousreply 1July 14, 2025 7:27 PM

R1 Everyone on DL cares about a major "moderate liberal" party controlled by billionaires and AIPAC moving rightward and getting paid dust by the electorate. Whether they like is another story.

PM Farage looks like a done deal. Just as Trump leaves office, another one just like him will come into power in the UK. Meanwhile, all the traditional parties will be busy slinging shit at each other until election day...

Once again, progs cutting off their nose to spite their face. And of course terrorists and tr4nnies are their top-two priorities. Workers who? 🙄

by Anonymousreply 4July 14, 2025 7:45 PM

Where will the British antisemites go, Labour or JCP?

by Anonymousreply 5July 14, 2025 7:45 PM

R4 What nose lmao? The Starmer government has been indistinguishable from the Tories, except it's sucking Bibi's cock harder than the Tories ever did. The British "progs" have even less incentive to stick with Labour than American "progs" do the Dems.

And the main reason why Reform has been polling so high is because people are desperate to be rid of both Labour and Tories and Reform presented the first viable opportunity in generations. It doesn't mean they love Farage or what he stands for, they just hate him less than the establishment. Many would love another viable option that isn't tied to Trumpism and that's what Corbyn will bring. And if you think Corbyn is even less popular with the masses than Farage then clearly you've read too much Murdoch rags.

He's the last living politician I can say I truly respect and admire.

by Anonymousreply 7July 14, 2025 9:12 PM

lol god damn it .... I'm re-reading my comment and see it can be interpreted as the OPPOSITE of the way I meant it. I better try it again:

I truly admire and respect Corbyn, and he's the only living politician I can say that about

by Anonymousreply 8July 14, 2025 9:18 PM

Not surprising. It's the usual "wah I hate the incumbent government and this shiny new party has got to be better!" situation.

by Anonymousreply 9July 14, 2025 9:58 PM

I never would've imagined that the Japanese Communist Party would find so much support in the UK!

by Anonymousreply 10July 14, 2025 10:11 PM

Can you imagine living in a country ruled by a party that won the last election with on 33.7% of the vote and now only has 15% support? Is it democracy to have such a minority government ruling the majority?

While Lincoln got only 39.7% of the vote nationwide, his share in the states that he actually governed was much higher (and he got a majority in 1864 of the states participating).

by Anonymousreply 11July 15, 2025 2:55 AM

And Reform UK is beating them all at the moment.

by Anonymousreply 12July 15, 2025 2:57 AM

R11 It's what happens when you have a multiparty system under first past the post. It sucks no doubt but still vastly preferable to a two-party system under first past the post i.e. the US.

by Anonymousreply 13July 15, 2025 4:01 AM

Who is Corbyn's base of support? Grooming gangs, CND members, luvvies, transwomen, Morning Star readers?

That seems like an unstable coalition.

by Anonymousreply 14July 15, 2025 4:11 AM

Nobody will vote for somebody who looks like a tramp.

Bernie Sanders got a lot of votes.

There isn’t a dictator or terrorist Corbyn hasn’t cosied up to. He’s the same as MAGA. His supporters are a cult.
