I just received a check I wasn't expecting from the U.S. Treasury and it feels like a setup. Ha! I was doing research online and they said that people who did not claim the 2021 stimulus might be receiving a check in July. I never claimed it because I didn't think I qualified at the time. There was also some info a new stimulus check for some people in July as well. Has anyone else had a check mailed to them or directly deposited into their account?
Did anyone else receive a $1400 check from the United States Treasury?

Nope. Nothing

Nope, nothing on my end. But I did receive the stimulus check when it was issued.
No reason to be suspicious, I don't think. Cash it.

It's sitting on my mantle and I haven't deposited it yet. I live abroad and the mail isn't exactly the most reliable here. But here it is, a check from the US with my foreign address crisp as a Lays chip.

I got a rock.

Apparently, you qualified (maybe they figured that out if you filed tax returns) so it's yours. I wouldn't hold on to it for too long.

R7's attempt to be clever, failed. As a wise ass, shit-stirrer however, she passed with flying colors.

I'd be afraid to spend it for fear the Trump administration would claw it back now.

A Nigerian prince who is lusting after you sent it to you. You need to send him your SSN and your bank account details before you can cash it. Also get a bunch of Crypto from the ATM at your local liquor store and send it to him ASAP.

Go ahead and cash it and see if it goes through. If it is fake, it will bounce, anyway. So, do it and see if fortune is look kind at you! I would... why not?

R12 Haha, what’s funny is that the country actually elected a Nigerian prince scammer in the form of a rich white bitch from Queens.

Log into your IRS account. If the check is legitimate, it will list it as having been issued.

OP if you are somewhat green to technology and new internet interfaces, I can gladly assist. Just send me your login information as well as some bio info in case a security alert question generates.

R17 I’ve finally worked up the nerve to tell you: You’re a whore darlin.

I look on dresser. No check.

Spend it on hookers and cocaine. You deserve it, OP.

I never got my $1400 stimmy check but I did have 1/3 of my net worth stolen through inflation so that other motherfuckers could get theirs.

If none else got one, I am especially weary now. I owe taxes that I haven’t paid. Not a lot. But I was unemployed most of one year so didn’t claim everything. Anyway why would they send me money if I owe. That’s what feels like a trap.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 14, 2025 6:05 AM |
Op & R22, call the IRS and ask if the check is legitimate.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | July 14, 2025 6:22 AM |
R23, I know the check is legitimately from the US government. That isn’t the question. It just feels like when they round up people with open warrants by telling them they’ve won tickets to the Super Bowl and they just need to come down and claim the tickets.

You’re WARY, not WEARY, OP.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | July 14, 2025 7:13 AM |
R24, if you are in a foreign country they can’t just show up and arrest you. And if you owe taxes, you’ll get around to it eventually. Would a rich person in your position hesitate before taking the money? No, he would not.
