What in the Happy Meal is going on at McDonald's these days ? An employee stabs her manager to death after she's sent home early, while a drive-thru customer fires a gun into the restaurant thinking it would stop the attack, then followed the assailant and held her at gunpoint until cops arrived.

I feel bad for the victim’s kids. But the news reports on this killing and others like it make me want to scream. It’s the same inane script over and over again:
>thoughts and prayers
>our hearts go out
>a community in mourning
>I abhor such violence
>she was loved by all and the world’s best mom
>a senseless tragic killing
Why don’t they talk about the culture of violence fostered in this country?
When are they going to report on our nation’s lax gun laws and the inadequate enforcement of even the existing laws?
Why won’t they explicitly make the connection between this murder and the growing mental health crisis in the U.S. and the decreasing ability of people to access/afford mental health treatment?
Instead, they just blather on about how sad this stabbing is as if it were a fluke and not part of systemic failure of our government, our nation to address society’s ills.

McDonald's restaurants look like prisons now, inside and out, so I guess the rampant chimpouts and crime make sense.
