I watched Candace Owens' deep dive into the Brigitte Macron situation on Youtube. One of the weirdest things that no one talks about is that when Emmanuel Macron had his Presidential Portrait done, there were books placed on his desk. One of the tome was a memoir by André Gide in which he relays his exploits sexing underage boys with Oscar Wilde in North Africa while married. To his cousin. Whom he completely abandoned for sex tourism. And then could never understand why she was so angry with him and eventually left him. He just had no idea?!
You tell me, folks: Was this book placement supposed to be a subliminal message as to the relationship between Brigitte and Emmanuel? Or is France really THAT sexually permissive that no one would give this book a second thought? Because in America, if our President had an André Gide book on his desk in his official portrait, all hell would break loose.

R73/R75 I'm not talking about what Trump or any other American president actually gets up to in their spare time, I am talking about being open about it in a presidential portrait. I am talking about no one would ever be able to get elected here with a marriage origin story as sordid as Emmanuel's and Brigitte's. We are puritanical here, with all the performative Christian shock that comes with it. Even hearing a rumor that one of our president's might own a book as sordid as Gide's would be a story. R98 Reading is Fundamental people! I am not saying Trump or any other American politician is not rotten to the core. I am saying, none of them would put an autobiography of some NAMBLA fellow on the Resolute Desk right before getting their fucking portrait taken.
I am saying, it's a really odd choice, for any President of any country, and I was ASKING, do any of you think that this was a deliberate choice, or if they just grabbed some books and threw them on the desk to make Macron look like "I read books?"
As unabashedly corrupt as Trump is, even he would not have a book written by Jeffrey Epstein in which he details the intoxicating pleasure of fucking an eight year old Tunisian boy, sitting out on the Resolute Desk.
I don't know how many times I can phrase this. It's not about what the politician in question is actually guilty of doing. It is about putting such a book out on display. How fucking crazy that is. And why did Emmanuel Macron do this?
It reminds me of the Balenciaga commercials that were a huge scandal awhile back, where they had children's stuffies wearing bondage gear, and some lunatic placed a printout of a court case regarding child pron in the photo.
It's just like....WHY? WHY THE FUCK? Why would any leader of any nation put THAT book in his official photo?
Please stop acting like I said Trump is an innocent lamb, I know that he is not. I am saying people would flip the fuck out if such a book appeared on the Resolute Desk. And I am just asking, is France really THAT permissive, or was this a deliberate choice to telegraph some weirdness?

You wildly, and I mean wildly, overestimate the ability to be shocked by literally anything Trump could or would do at this point r104. I'm sorry if it's untrue, but you honestly do not seem like anybody who has the faintest idea what the good ole U.S. of A. is like in these dark times.
NOOOO, in fact, nobody would flip the fuck out if Trump had a painting of himself fucking an underaged girl on Epstein Island. His spokeswhores would explain it all away and the media would hem and haw and say, well, Clinton had his scandals too, so really, who are we to judge.
You may be legitimately shocked by Andre Gide and Macron but seriously, no American is going to be shocked by anything our Nero says or does right now. We should be, in fact we should be committing him to an insane asylum for all his stupid nonsense and craziness, but unfortunately we seem determined to accept any disgusting, crazy thing he says or does. And that really is a problem, one that is really agitating me tonight, but I'm not sure there's any solution.

To see what all this hysteria is about I Googled. Yes, it was deliberate. There's a BBC behind the scenes video where he's specifically choosing what pages to have laid open "casually" - I can't tell which book.
In February 2022 he was interviewed by La Règle du jeu and discussed his literary faves and he included Gide.
[quote]In The Rules of the Game , the head of state reiterates his passion for the novels of Gustave Flaubert, particularly Madame Bovary . "His demands. His absolute language ," he explains. He also cites Stendhal, who "changed [his] life," André Gide's Les Nourritures terrestres , "the book of [his] adolescence," and René Char, "the poet who taught me the most about the unspeakable . "
Myself, never having read Gide's work have seen people reference that specific book and most are more interested in the journey and not specifically boiling the prose down to pederasty.

Thank you, R108. The placement of the Gide book becomes extra curious when the French president's own marriage began with pederasty on behalf of Brigitte, who it seems more and more likely started life as a man in addition to being a hebephile.
This is not Candace Owens nonsense, btw. Candace was just reporting on a book written by a French journalist based on mega immaculate research. She has never been seen in the same room as her supposed brother Jean-Michel Trogneaux. It's like Jean-Michel existed for 30 years, then suddenly there was Brigitte, and no Jean-Michel. Additionally, the supposed first husband of Brigitte is a huge mystery as well, as was his mysterious death and extremely private, suspicious funeral, of which only one child was supposedly there. The sole photo being presented as a young Brigitte was shown with facial recognition programs to be Brigitte's daughter at her confirmation, with the image decolorized.
It's very compelling stuff. And let's be real, that wig is nasty.

There’s no other explanation for his absurd posts about France having had no colonial empire (hint: it was the second largest colonial empire in the world), or Macron not being a powerful man, because France is according to him an insignificant country (6th largest economy in the world, a permanent member of the UN Security Council, the political muscle behind the EU, etc).

Brigitte - you know we all love you and this is a safe place. It's only out of love and concern that we staged this intervention. But - bitch WHAT THE FUCK? You think you can do BETTAH? Girl, you better take off that coat, take off your panties and march right into that bedroom NOW Missy! We don't want to hear no more shit about how you're thinking of leaving.

I think it's more like Macron wants her gone and she's hanging on by her gnarled, arthritic claws.

R84 Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day. In this case, Candace is just a bottom feeder spreading hot goss that comes from an immaculately researched French source.
And look, do I care if people are born one gender and then transition? No. But when that person also preys on a 14 year old when they are in their 40s and meant to be teaching the CHILD school subjects, not how to eat transitioned pussy, then yeah, it all starts to get pretty disturbing.

She was wrong as hell for having an affair with a student, but the age of consent in France is 15. She met him when he was 15 and started teaching him /having an affair until he was 16. It's already wrong, no need to make it worse by writing that he was younger than he was.

R128 - do we know they had an affair then? I thought he was obsessed with her and said when he grows up he's going to marry her - and he did when he was 30 and finished with school.
Where is it that says they were boinking when he was 15 or 16? (If so - that's pretty fucked up.)

Alas, the lost innocence of my youth!
Oh well, back to not giving a shit and being president of France. Wonder if Candace Owens' very, very gay husband is in town. I could use a diversion.

R127 / R128 According to this methodically researched book by the French journalist Xavier Poussard, he was actually younger than the story they have put forward to the public. From his book's Amazon blurb (clunkily translated):
"On May 14, 2017, Emmanuel Macron came to power in France. A year earlier, the 39-year-old was completely unknown to the public. A media blitzkrieg was waged to sell the French on the couple he formed with “Brigitte”, an attractive teacher he had seduced when he was 17 and she, 36. But the chronology didn’t add up, and the story was rewritten many times, until the admission that when he met “Brigitte”, Emmanuel Macron was...14. And “Brigitte’s” past remained inaccessible, as if she were someone other than who she claimed to be. A mysterious individual who had become “Brigitte”...

The link shows two pictures of Jean-Michel Trogneaux as a child and as a college student. Up to this point there are no childhood photos of Brigitte. Only Jean-Michel. The next two pictures show Brigitte, age 30-whatever and more currently. At this point there are no more known images of Jean-Michel, the "brother." To my eyes, it is all the same person. What do you guys think?

Well I will say she looks better now than she did back then?
I would hope they didn't actually have an affair when he was a teen - but something happened for him to be so transfixed on this woman.
At some point, a 25 year age gap starts to creep in on the reality of your relationship, no matter what gender.
He gave up having children to be with her - and faced a lot of ridicule. If she wants to retire and spend her 70s and 80s in quiet - I can't blame her. He's still going to be going full-force.
They had a good run against all odds.

You can’t take it with you, r134, but I think people like Musk and Peter Thiel think they will cheat death and live forever. There’s no other reason they need to accumulate the wealth they have, they could never spend it in a hundred years.

Musk and Thiel are different characters all together! Musk LOVES the adulation& being talked about, positive and negative. I told Musk your wealth is all estimated, just like the "Kartrashwhorians"-loves the credit for the work he doesn't do. He thought that was a "great example" of what he is.
Thiel is a different animal, loves $$$, Power, Revenge and Control. I believe he thinks he can cheat DEATH.

[quote] do we know they had an affair then? I thought he was obsessed with her and said when he grows up he's going to marry her - and he did when he was 30 and finished with school.
An unauthorized biography, another biography that interviewed his parents and those where he grew up, a documentary and many articles, including one with Brigitte's daughter all have the affair starting when he was 16. Classmates would see them holding hands and hanging out on weekends. There was one anecdote in one of the biographies that a family friend of Brigitte's saw them sunbathing at her parents' home and soon people began to find out about them: a neighbor told his parents and Brigette's son told one of his sisters.
Neither Emmanuel or Brigitte will say when it turned romantic; with Brigitte saying that there was nothing between them when he moved to Paris for school; but in the same interview she said that there was a connection when they were workshopping a play together on Friday nights and she couldn't wait for Fridays; and that was when he was 16.
He was 17 when he told her he was going to marry her. That was when he moved to Paris to finish his education. Brigitte thought he would find someone his own age, but they kept in contact and visited one another. She and her husband had long separated but they didn't divorce until a year before she married Emmanuel. The two waited to get married out of concern for her children.

Sounds like your sleazy neighbor pretty much did exactly that r134. Really, he would've been more honest to just hire whores, and I seriously don't know why rich guys don't just do that instead of going through rituals of marriage they don't give a fuck about.
