"The Rink"

Did anyone catch this on Broadway? I am a HUGE fan of the Broadway soundtrack. It's kind of like Liza's forgotten show, since she didn't win a Tony for it, but the amazing Chita did.

Liza was at the lowest point of her drug addiction and left the show to go into Betty Ford. Jason Alexander and Rob Marshall were supporting players.

But the show seems so magical. I can't imagine how beautifully it was replicated on stage.

I saw it and thought Liza did a great job. Chita was Chita, which is to say superb. The score is great. The book is, well, only so-so.

It wasn't that great, although not for lack of trying.

It's all kind of a sour downer.
