Cue fat jokes.

She makes some interesting choices.

Thank God it’s a walk-in.

by Anonymousreply 1July 11, 2025 8:13 PM

I bet they had to air it out!

by Anonymousreply 2July 11, 2025 8:26 PM

How did they get her out?

by Anonymousreply 3July 11, 2025 8:32 PM

Oh, dear.

That Canadian tuxedo with the stretch waistband and the long, pin straight, center parted dark hair is really not good.

Her makeup looks nice.

I hope she chose Naked Lunch, because the title combines two things that she really adores.

by Anonymousreply 5July 11, 2025 8:37 PM

She made some really cool choices, many I haven’t seen others make.

by Anonymousreply 6July 11, 2025 8:43 PM

She's lost a lot of weight. I wonder if she's on Ozempic?

by Anonymousreply 7July 11, 2025 8:59 PM

She’s a closet nosher.

The Criterion Collection consecrated her first feature, basically a home movie (TINY FURNITURE) almost instantly, while still ignoring the works of Jacqueline Audry, Muriel Box, Edith Carlmar, and Germaine Dulac (starting with just the first four letters of the alphabet, four female writers/directors who had actual track records in their respective industries).

Agreed on the interesting choices and I enjoyed her choices and explanations. Not that she needs any help from me, but I often defend her writing and work. If only for Girls she gave me a character alternately horrible and, now and again, lovable in a moment despite and for all her faults. Very uneven, but at times burst out loud laughing in surprise (with her, at her, both). There were genuine moments of fucking delight and a bit of brilliance. Girls wasn't what I expected it to be. It was strange and good at tines, enough so to hang on through lesser bits. I'll always have some affection for her work on Girls and hope she will do other interesting things.

Damn, I’ve been mocking this woman for being a fat nepo baby over-sharer for years without ever watching any of her work. She made some good choices here, and she seems smart, sweet, and likable. Now forget I said this, and carry on, gentlemen.

I agree with her about “Streetwise/Tiny”—that documentary is brutal, fascinating, and heartbreaking. It’s also a really nice time capsule of ‘70s Seattle, a city that wasn’t widely documented in the pop culture zeitgeist at that time. It reminds me of a real-life version of “Out of the Blue”.

It looks someone attached her to a helium pump and overinflated her.

She must weigh 300 lbs at least- by now.

by Anonymousreply 14July 11, 2025 10:52 PM

Her voice is adorable. It wasn’t what I expected. She sounds like the voice of a generation.
