I anticipated it to be very dry given the subject matter, but it was actually much more involving than I expected. Maybe the cast is part of the appeal? You've got William Holden, June Allyson, Barbara Stanwyck, Fredric March, Shelley Winters, Walter Pidgeon, Dean Jagger, and Nina Foch (who got an Oscar nod). For a corporate-set drama about people vying for control of a furniture manufacturing company, I thought it was quite good. Directed by the great Robert Wise.
June Allyson sticks out like a blemish on a bride's nose in that cast - SUCH a bad actress.

Yes-June was the only “fly in the ointment”’otherwise a great film. Nina was PERFECTION as usual and never enough Stanwyck. I Watch it once a year or so here.

I remember watching it on Saturday Night at the Movies on May 9, 1964.
I was 11.
June Allyson was my favorite.
