I'm so glad this is all coming out. We go to the Hill Country three or four times a year, and the roads are lined with ranches flying goddamn Trump flags. It's horrible that people are suffering, but it just goes to show that when you cut government services, everyone suffers, not just the brown people hated by racists.

trump supporters- drowning is too good for them.

I wouldn't say it publicly but no, I have no pity for these people. They brought it on themselves.

Dumbass Americans don't want to pay any taxes yet they expect services.

Nice things (like flash flood sirens) COST MONEY.

It's not a difficult concept to grasp.

What's even crazier: Kerr County ended up accepting that $10 Million in federal funds simply to keep them from going to go to a "blue" state instead. This gal breaks down how it was spent, or most of it. The bulk ($7 million) went toward upgrading the Kerr County Sherriff's & Fire Department's communication systems, which are critically important....but that project ran $2 million OVER budget, somehow. (only one "qualified" bid from Motorola? Hmm) Another $1 million or so was allocated to First Responder pay -- so everyone in the Sherriff's office got a 10 % raise, etc. They had $10 million (that they didn't want) fall into their lap and didn't spend a dime on flood warning system/siren. FUCKING UNREAL.
