Great article here about the "Alpha Male."
Where did all this straight guy trauma over their mascinity come from?
Anyone who has to prove they are "alpha" is an insecure little pussy.

These are the same guys who are scared of big cities. Pussies

R1 - they just want to justify being assholes.
Alpha male in a pack is just the parent/father typically - but they've misconstrued this entirely.

Virginia Wolf was writing about the male anger back in the day already, so it's been around for some time. The new development is that they've turned that aspect into an identity unto itself and are now running the country.

A man who is a pathological liar, a convicted felon, a sexual pest, a noted germaphobe, hates dogs, take 3 hours to do his hair and makeup every morning before he can go out in public, a guy who was born on third base and thinks he hit a home run is not a good role model to anyone or anything.
It's all just so much bullshit, and so representative of what we are as nation.

Is it possible Trump has slept with men?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | July 10, 2025 5:33 PM |
Look up those “alpha male boot camps” where grown men pay thousands of dollars to LARP marine boot camp run by fake drill sergeants for a week. And at times they do the most homoerotic shit alive. It’s all a scam. Toxic masculinity and beta insecurity are result of patriarchy. If these men could grow more emotional intelligence, the world would be a better place.

It depends: define men.

There was a self-described über alpha male on Twitter back a couple of years ago, and I have never seen a more thin-skinned man in my whole life, because anytime would second guess his "über alpha masculinity" he was whining and crying all the way to his mama's home that he was indeed what he pretended. And I kid you not, this man wasn't Donald Trump like y'all were already thinking. .

R7 - there have always been groups like this - Promise keepers was a Christian group for men.
Just a bunch of fat middle-aged men living in boring small towns and suburbs who hate the direction their life is going.
It's funny how almost every "man's movement" is just a racist, homophobic, misogynistic diatribe to make them feel better about themselves. Over and over.

How do you explain all the women who voted for him? These types of articles are out of touch and yet another reason the Left has a men problem, as well as a female problem, and black and Latino problem. They sum everything up in simpleton terms and don’t understand that it’s much more than that. It’s completely condescending.

^ A lot of MAGA women buy into this patriarchal Alpha BS too. Large Marge Traitor Trash Greene fits this bill. I can spot these women a mile away-long bleached blonde hair in a ball cap (often a Trump hat).

My b-in-l is like this. Constant preaching - has it ALL figured out in the most simplistic terms. Family now avoids him. Spends most of his time hunting, skeet shooting and terrorizing his wife (my husband's sister). Meanwhile, he lost his pension due to the shenanigans of a board of directors who were clearly Republican. To make money he runs franchise truck stops, cigarette store and even made the front page of the local paper when he was busted with illegal slot machines. Held us captive one night at dinner talking about wind farms killing birds so we should stick with oil and coal. Um, you kill birds, dude. We now avoid.

We all see Adam's point. He's not breaking new ground here. But ever wonder why? Why are all these men, straight and gay, falling in line? Are they filling a void or need? Or are we going to be intellectually elite here and say they are stupid and uneducated and easily duped. Or are we going to say they are women-hating racists? To me this is just another way of saying "deplorables". These alpha types vote. And they vote as a block. So how will anyone else ever sway that vote? What would get them to change? Obviously, we've all seen these Alpha clowns. I would just like to see someone come along with a plan or a unifying message for the Democrats/Independents. In the mean time, I guess we'll just keep listening to people like Adam whine and rub their pussies.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | July 11, 2025 12:58 PM |
We don’t need their votes and we certainly don’t need to go Republican-lite in courting them

Most are scared little boys who lack the emotional intelligence and critical thinking skills to understand the modern world. They gravitate toward Donnie Two Scoops because he shouts the loudest and puts on the biggest front about being "strong," but is, in reality, a weak, spineless pussy. But that doesn't matter -- all his zombie followers care about is feeling better about their shitty, dead-end lives for just a moment.

[quote]You’ve seen the aesthetic. The selfie in the truck cab—sunglasses on, hat pulled low, a stoic expression that says “I mean business,” even though it’s a Tuesday and they’re sitting in a Wendy’s parking lot. Their social feeds are filled with the same hashtags, the same memes, the same angry rants about “the libs,” the same “Trump 2024” flags flapping behind their pickups like badges of masculinity. They probably have pronouns like come/take it.
I live in a rural area. A farming community. I see very, very little of that aesthetic.
What I DO see in my area, are men....white and Hispanic... who get up every day and go to work, support their families, spend weekends with their kids, are involved in the schools and community, keep their homes nice...who are all around good guys and good neighbors.
And yes, no doubt most of them voted for Trump. But Adam Kinzinger is totally clueless as to why.

Or how about women trying to be the type woman a man would want to be with.
So many American women have become hideous creatures. It is completely understandable to me why the "Karen" meme took hold.
I was out of the country for many years. I'm kind of shocked at the number of horrible women...the shrews... I've encountered during the 5 years I've been back. Quite a contrast to what I of women before I left.

Because they’re weak. Emotionally, mentally, and spiritually weak.
Coddled, spoilt and entitled. They’re so used to it that they’re threatened when anyone stronger comes along.
As more and more women, POC, religious minorities and LGBTQ people have moved up in the world (education, jobs, opportunities), these poor, coddled white boys feel threatened because they KNOW they don’t have what it takes.
All of this hypermasculine shit is them lashing out over their own weakness.
They’re afraid everyone they’ve kept down for millennia isn’t looking for equality - but revenge.

Sounds like R37 has collective amnesia over the events of January 6, 2021, when a bunch of fat, old white men, led by and goaded by an even angrier, fatter old, disgruntled white man caused quite a bit of "mayhem" in a certain American city.

R42 doesn't like talking about 1/6/21 because it showed the world what a vile piece of shit Donald Trump really is, and what low-life dirtball scumbags Trumps supporters, like R42, really are.

R44 For all the talk about it, all the coverage about it, all the miles and miles and miles of text written about it, guess what? Trump is back in the White House and the Dems are as powerless as they've ever been. Maybe something's not working...
But hey, keep talking about it.

Being a straight man is oppressive. Not in a systematic sense but emotional and mental oppression.
Growing up with rigid gender norms, internalized expectations to be performative masculine can take an emotional toll on men.
Just like a closeted gay man pretending to be straight can eat one alive. It’s not just based on sex and romance, it’s based on all the things “straight men” have to do and be.
But this is me, someone who came out to my stepfather during a fight because I forgot to take out the trash because “thats what boys do”.
I don’t have compassion because they’re making the choice to be chained to these stereotypes of manhood and masculinity but at the same time, I get it.
I get the confusion and anger cause I wouldn’t want to struggle with it.

by Anonymous | reply 52 | July 11, 2025 9:11 PM |
I will explain it clearly for you R43. Many family farm types also have paid employment. They go to town for that. Small towns. Teaching school, working at a factory, etc. And many of these types are also MAGA scum with inferiority complexes that play out in town. Do people really think that we still have subsistence farmers in the US? Coming to town twice a year to pick up Sears catalog items and mail order coon hounds?
by Anonymous | reply 53 | July 11, 2025 9:26 PM |

A lot of these guys are traumatized by cruel fathers who flipped out whenever they acted vulnerable or sensitive in any way.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | July 11, 2025 9:41 PM |
R57 I think it can be both. Mothers can be just as cruel or emasculating as fathers, often placing emotional pressure on their sons in more subtle, manipulative ways. That’s part of why there’s so much tension between a man’s wife and his mother—two forces competing for emotional dominance.
Straight men often stay entangled in their mothers’ control without realizing it, because chasing mommy’s approval still aligns with their idea of manhood. Gay men, on the other hand, are already outside the expectations of traditional masculinity—so they’re more likely to recognize the dysfunction and walk away.
When gay men have bad relationships with their mothers, they usually leave. Straight men often stay—whether out of “family loyalty” or because they believe women should be coddled and protected, even when they’re emotionally abusive.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | July 11, 2025 9:50 PM |
And to add to my R58 they will leave their mother when their wife tells them to.
