Does anyone remember the talk show she did with other guests and she did nothing but trash the young actress being interviewed on the stage? lol. You hear her muttering shit under her breath like, “Oh, you did not,” as the actress is talking. It’s hilarious. I can’t remember the show though.

Another one of your boring, dull dreams, OP?

It was Kup's Show with Elizabeth Ashley, and she didn't trash Elizabeth. She got annoyed when Liz was talking about being in a sexual frenzy for years. But Lucy's behavior seemed more motherly and protective of Liz than anything else.
This interview was brought up on podcast recently where Liz was a guest, and she said that Lucy (and Debbie Reynolds) tried to talk her out of marrying George Peppard, because they thought it would be a bad idea. They knew he wanted her to give up her career for him.
She said Otto Preminger was a massive prick, though.

It wasn't an interview, but old Lucy was brought in to talk to a group of young performers.
One of audience members was Shirley Hemphill who was then playing in the tv show "What's Happening".
Shirley was complaining that black performers had i much harder than white performers. Lucy wasn't having it. She said 'You just have to take the work - work hard - if you're good and persistent and listen - you might get lucky."
Shirley started playing the same old song and dance and finally Lucy stood up and said: "I know who you are. I've seen your show. You're not ready and if someone is telling you that you are - they're wrong."
Shirley stomped out.

How could R3's story differ more than the article in R6?

R7. Hmm, because R3 made up her own version? Or imply recalled it differently?

I know.....I was certain I saw what I saw - but I guess dementia has set in.
I will bow to the folks who were there and what they reported. Maybe I saw a rerun or something later when Hemphill was already on the show.
Sorry......

On an episode of Dinah! Lucy told Valerie Harper she didn't remember her in the chorus of Wildcat! sort of intimating she was lying, but Valerie brought the vocal selections book which had clear photos of the cast including Valerie Harper who played it off wonderfully.

R12. And Val, with Bea Arthur and powerhouse performer Pam Dawber sang for Lucy at her Kennedy Centers Honor in 1986. They should have brought out Mary Wickes!
