Is this it at the link? I've never heard of Siwa but this would be a huge hit. She sounds really good and the music has been well updated to retain the original charm but in a modern sound.
But is she trying to emulate Carnes' rough voice or is that how she (Siwa) usually sings? I think she has a very good voice.

I was sceptical because I love the original so much, but I agree with r8, what I heard in that clip sounds amazing. The best part is she's retained some of Carnes' vocal rasp as an homage. Release it, Jojo!

I enjoyed the 80s original. I see why they picked it but Jojo's version is awful. I was kind of amused by her for a while, like who cares, but the girl is kind of a moron. Still think she's too gym teacher to be with this guy forever but maybe they will tie the knot!

Why cover something to just make a version extremely similar to the previous one? Shouldn't you try to change it up up and make it unique?
It's just like that Cher album of ABBA covers. She might as well have recorded it in a karaoke booth.

Dance Moms was my very secret guilty pleasure show. I never told a soul I watched it except in the anonymity of DataLounge.
JoJo was always my favorite back then because she would sort of stand up to the cretin that was Abby Lee.
I also sort of liked that she was a perky looking little kid covered in those idiot bows, but when she opened her mouth, her voice sounded like a gas station attendant on her second pack of Marlboro Reds for the day.
