Which we never would have known about without Esther's lack of discretion.

Esther Williams was a cunt.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | July 5, 2025 5:04 PM |
Esther Williams was not a CUNT...that is mean!!
Esther Williams was an adulterous Jezebel-Harlot WHORE OF BABYLON!!
Jeff Chandler was Gorgeous-would have loved to have him in bed.

R9 He looks so sweaty in that clip.

I loved Broken Arrow a kid but I suppose now since he (as Cochise) and Debra Paget weren't native Americans we're not allowed to enjoy it any more. One of the first pro-Indian westerns.

He was a handsome guy, but he had the most nonexistent ass ever.

The polka dots were meant to distract from that.

Jeff Chandler was Universal Pictures' top leading man for a time, but he soon complained about being overworked, refused parts, and was put on suspension. A few of these rejected parts went to George Nader, but George just wasn't connecting with movie audiences.
Meanwhile, waiting in the wings was young Rock Hudson, who was being groomed at Universal as their next leading man. Eventually, Hudson's popularity would eclipse Chandler's, and Chandler was released from his Universal contract in 1959.

His song Duke Of Earl was not overrated.

He was hot as fuck.
But he was also the textbook definition of AGP. He told Esther Williams, after she’d found him in her lingerie IIRC, that he envisioned the two of them as two women having sex.
He’s the precursor to today’s trans-identified men harassing lesbians on dating apps.

Robert Rockwell was the hotter Mr. Boynton.

He wasn’t a great actor but I liked watching him. Esther’s memoir made me dislike her somewhat. She was dickmatized by Fernando Lamas and abandoned her kids for him.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | July 5, 2025 8:53 PM |
I don't believe a lot of Esther's claims. She was a delightful raconteuse, but likely stretched truths for titillation and profit.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 5, 2025 9:12 PM |
Next time OP just post a fucking picture, for Christ sake.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | July 5, 2025 9:16 PM |
I don’t know why anybody would freely admit giving up her kids . For titillation or otherwise.

Well, that's one man's opinion.

Jeff did get an Oscar nomination for Broken Arrow and he played Cochise in two more movies. But other than Broken Arrow (starring James Stewart), his movie career was not distinguished, even if Jeff was good. Universal didn't make a lot of great movies in the '50s (or ever)...too bad he never made one of those Universal Ross Hunter-Douglas Sirk movies. But wasn't Universal more interested in promoting Rock Hudson?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | July 6, 2025 4:05 AM |
R27 Oh, wait, I think he did make a Ross Hunter (tho it's not a Sirk) movie--with June Allyson. Stranger in My Arms.
No wonder I forgot that one, it's boring.

Chandler was handsome and muscular, with a deep mellow voice, and a hairy chest, which he frequently had to shave for roles. But Universal kept casting him in bland pictures, westerns or romances. One of his better efforts is “The Jayhawkers” (1959), in which he’s a commander of a vigilante force of former Confederates, which is infiltrated by Union spy Fess Parker. The two develop an intense connection, where the term “brother “ is exchanged. There’s a female in there somewhere, but the emphasis is on the two men.

I like a western he did with Maureen O'Hara, War Arrow.
They also did some hokey picture called Flame of Araby.
