I have changed my mind. I said here on the datalounge that Beth would be best friends with Barbara Thorndkye but it's her mother who would be besties with Barbara and love the food and free parking at the Mortimer Club.

I think Beth already annoyed by Conrad, the drama, the fight and couldn’t care less is the doctor is Jewish or not.
Her mother seems to be the one who would belong to the Mortimer Club, and not just because the parking is free.

I don’t her mother was antisemitic per se, but like Thorndyke, tolerated people who are. Mother and daughter are both about appearances and so the mother was just thinking of how it would be viewed by her friends and society.
