Miley Cyrus, Timothée Chalamet and Demi Moore to receive stars on Hollywood Walk of Fame

"Others who made the class of 2026 include actors Emily Blunt, Rachel McAdams, Molly Ringwald, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Rami Malek and Noah Wyle; former NBA star turned sports analyst Shaquille O’Neal; and “Good Morning America” co-anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos[😳], who will have a double ceremony."

Emily Blunt can’t even open a movie.

by Anonymousreply 1July 3, 2025 8:29 AM

Is it safe to say that the Walk of Fame stars no longer mean anything?

by Anonymousreply 2July 3, 2025 8:51 AM

They've been Purchased by PR for years now.

by Anonymousreply 3July 3, 2025 9:48 AM

Aren't they like...$13,000 or something?

by Anonymousreply 4July 3, 2025 9:59 AM

It also feels too soon for Timothée, purchased for PR or not.

by Anonymousreply 5July 3, 2025 1:04 PM

Basically all the people the Academy/Oscars don't love.

by Anonymousreply 6July 3, 2025 1:30 PM

They like me! They REALLY like me!!!

by Anonymousreply 7July 3, 2025 1:33 PM

Hollywood would rather die than quit foisting Mouseboy.

by Anonymousreply 8July 3, 2025 1:40 PM

I can’t believe Demi Moore didn’t have one already. That’s an injustice

by Anonymousreply 9July 3, 2025 1:42 PM

The fans usually pay for the star. The celebrity simply agrees to attend the ceremony.

by Anonymousreply 10July 3, 2025 1:46 PM

Even Trump has one of these stupid stars.

by Anonymousreply 11July 3, 2025 1:49 PM

Why is Lea Salonga getting one? She’s Broadway.

by Anonymousreply 12July 3, 2025 1:49 PM

I mean Eva Longoria has one of these things...

by Anonymousreply 13July 3, 2025 1:50 PM

Jesus you'd think Demi Moore had won that Oscar. Time 100, People Most Beautiful Issue, The Met Ball, bought and paid for Star, etc.

by Anonymousreply 14July 3, 2025 1:56 PM

All the greats.

by Anonymousreply 15July 3, 2025 1:57 PM

R14, sometimes it’s actually better NOT to win…

by Anonymousreply 16July 3, 2025 2:37 PM

Other than Demi, the rest of them are too young and don't deserve it.

by Anonymousreply 17July 3, 2025 4:45 PM

Let me guess Glen Powell in 2027.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

Nomination: Anyone can nominate a celebrity active in the fields of movies, television, music, radio, or live theatre.

Selection: The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Walk of Fame Selection Committee reviews nominations and makes selections.

Fees: If a nomination is successful, a fee, currently $40,000 (DAMN), is paid to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to cover the costs associated with the star.

Sponsorship: This fee is often covered by the celebrity's team, a sponsor like a movie studio or record label, or sometimes even by fans who have organized fundraising efforts.

Maintenance: The fee also contributes to the ongoing maintenance of the Walk of Fame, including repairs and upkeep.

Keith David also got a star in this round. They filmed his reaction, where he gently cried and hugged his daughter. She bought it for him as a gift.

by Anonymousreply 20July 3, 2025 5:07 PM

R5: The poor thing has to buy awards now?

by Anonymousreply 21July 3, 2025 5:11 PM

That’s adorable!

The recipient has to get nominated first and usually it’s from an agent, fan, studio, etc. Second, the committee votes on the nominations so it’s not like anyone can just get a star. Once accepted, the recipient or their sponsor has to pay $75K for the creation, installation, and ceremony. The idea that these are rewarded is bogus.

by Anonymousreply 23July 3, 2025 10:40 PM

I don't think these can be purchased. Otherwise Beyonce would have one.

by Anonymousreply 24July 4, 2025 1:07 AM

TC - A RODENT 🐭 witha SCRAWNY ass does not deserve a star.

by Anonymousreply 25July 4, 2025 1:24 AM

R25: It's like Obama getting the Nobel Peace Prize.

by Anonymousreply 26July 4, 2025 1:38 AM

Does the star say "Rat Boy" ?

by Anonymousreply 27July 4, 2025 1:40 AM

Every time this thread pops up I am reminded of how repulsive Chalamet is.
