God, these people are despicable.

Is DC a place where you can tape people illegally without their consent?
I thought the Project Veritas people had a lot of lawsuits and were going under.
Both sides are not the same - just more lies and distortions.

Here's a link around the paywall. I just read this and immediately came here to see if it was being discussed.
[quote]Since the Project Veritas video aired — but especially since Mr. Zeldin posted it to his X account two days in a row in February, receiving almost 3 million views — he has been publicly shamed by Elon Musk, obscenely berated by anonymous callers and hauled into an interview with the F.B.I.
And of course he's received a torrent of homophobic abuse from MAGAts as a result of this dangerous stunt.

r2 DC is one party consent.
May "Brady" learn what it feels like to be under the wheels of a bus.

This is a mid-level EPA guy. He doesn’t know anything about how EPA works and doesn’t have control of anything.
The fact that Zeldin is scapegoating this guy is ridiculous. Zeldin is the head of the EPA. He knows this guy has no say whatsoever in EPA functions. The fact that he posts Project Veritas is shameful

I don't go to Tinder to talk about my work.

When people talk about their work on a first date, they make it sound way more important than it is. Sounds like what this guy did

R9 especially in Washington, the careerist douchebag capital of the world

Maybe federal employees should have a code of conduct limiting how much they are allowed to speak of their governmental work outside of work.

r2 " Is DC a place where you can tape people illegally without their consent?"
You do realize that laws like that don't really apply under the Orange Turd's administration.

R10 - exactly - the only place in America I could see this happening on a date is DC, from what everyone says about it.
I've heard and read so many times that people want to know what you do, where you went to college, and how you could help them or provide influence. Sounds disgusting. If you don't work in a position or place that has importance, then people skip right past you.
That's what I've heard at least and read online.

It's not like he went on this date and immediately starting blabbing about his job. He was trying to talk about his hobbies. It was the Project Veritas creep who was specifically asking questions about his work, and in DC that's not as much of a red flag as it would be in other places.

Poor guy.
He looks FtM at the OP.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | July 2, 2025 3:23 AM |
Sounds a little East German, r11. That's really your takeaway from the NYT article? That millions of people who work for the federal government shouldn't be able to casually chit chat about their jobs?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | July 2, 2025 3:56 AM |
This seems illegal. I know we’re talking about Repugs so I’m sure they don’t care, but can’t he sue? Their name sounds left wing.
