Having mom over for a homemade luncheon of good ol' Canadian potato salad and slow simmered grilled ribs basted in BBQ sauce.
For my American friends: Canadian potato salad is made with cold mashed Russet potatoes, chopped onion, sliced celery, sliced radishes (radish greens optional), chopped hard boiled eggs and crumbled crispy bacon. Add just enough mayo to bind the ingredients, a whisper of yellow mustard, some bacon drippings and plenty of freshly milled black pepper. Let it all mingle together in the fridge overnight to 24 hours.
