Looks like they co-opted the staging from these very popular Argentine dancers, Leandro Capparelli & Fernando Gracia, who choreographed their "Tango Encanto Rojo" a decade ago.
Did Dancing with the Stars happen to mention that the tango originated as a same-sex dance?
