The Devil Wears Prada 2 starts production this week

Seriously? Outside of a few scenes with Blunt and Streep, that film was pretty cheesy and overrated. A lot of nonmeat filler subplots and some really thinly constructed conflict made it feel about an hour too long.

Stanley Tucci’s character reminded me of Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs, a dopey stereotype that no one seemed to notice. Maybe in Part 2 he could sing “Goodbye Horses” in the mirror.

Finally something that can unite the nation.

Branagh is the interesting twist here. He's known to be a diva.....and Streep is known to have no patience for that nonsense, so this might get juicy!

A classic that doesn't need a sequel.

Fuck do I hate Kenneth Branagh.

Otherwise, I’d be feeling some degree of anticipation, though I agree with r1 - a lot of the original was pretty pedestrian.

I never got the appeal either, I'm much more excited about Practical Magic 2.

Today is when I learned there is a Practical Magic 2 coming out. JFC. Hollywood really loves its sequels these days.

r7 In fairness, there are four books in that series, and the last one takes place thirty years after the first one which was made into a movie. So at least they have that excuse.
