Mamdani is bringing Bernie bros back to the Dem side

In local politics anyway.

Further proof of what progressives have been telling "moderates" all along but keeps falling on deaf ears: much of Trump's success isn't even rooted in partisan tribalism - he simply captured a large segment of voters who absolutely despise establishment Democrats.

It's also why Dem leaders would rather spend all their time, energy, and resources sabataging the progressives than stand up to Trump - progressives threaten their positions of power, while Trump's existence enhances them.

The path to defeating Trumpism is simple and clear, and the Democratic establishment is what stands in the way. They've gotta go.

wait, white Dems in NYC voted for a Dem?

by Anonymousreply 1June 28, 2025 8:19 PM

R1 Yes, but the more noteworthy part is nonpartisan Trump voters also voted for a Dem - this particular Dem.

by Anonymousreply 2June 28, 2025 8:22 PM

Is the NYC Dem primary open to non-Dems to vote?

by Anonymousreply 3June 28, 2025 8:24 PM

He is the worst candidate. As someone of the same ethnicity, race, and an immigrant, I am telling you that NYC is full of idiots and fools. People who voted for him are willing to commit suicide. In my view, anyone who votes for democrats is committing to the destruction of America, as democrats are on a suicidal mission to destroy America.

by Anonymousreply 4June 28, 2025 8:28 PM

Yeah … no.

The leftists are the problem. Liberals can and do win elections by ditching the leftists (and the T). The leftists (and the T) lose without the liberals every time.

Drop the extremist leftists.

P.S. Mamdani hasn’t won yet.

by Anonymousreply 5June 28, 2025 8:29 PM

I wish I lived in NYC so I could vote for him. So glad that muleface Cuomo lost.

by Anonymousreply 6June 28, 2025 8:32 PM

You're not welcome. Big tent= waste of time

by Anonymousreply 7June 28, 2025 8:32 PM

Kamala ditched the leftists and didn't vocally support trans people and still lost.

by Anonymousreply 8June 28, 2025 8:33 PM

[quote]much of Trump's success isn't even rooted in partisan tribalism

Trump's success was built on populism, just like Bernie Sanders's campaign. The media doesn't understand this. Sanders probably would have beaten Trump in 2016.

The Democratic candidate who runs a populist campaign in 2028 will win big. Who will it be?

[quote]R5 Liberals can and do win elections by ditching the leftists

Sometimes I genuinely wonder whether y'all are trolling or actually that stupid and delusional.

With the middle class consistently and acceleratingly shrinking across the country, "liberals" are increasingly on their own. Time to wake the fuck up and recognize y'all are in the minority and all other groups across the political spectrum can at least find common ground in hating your guts. You seem to think that you're in the driver's seat and get to pick your allies but you aren't and don't. It's you who have to grovel to other groups for any chance of reversing your ever growing unelectability.

by Anonymousreply 10June 28, 2025 9:13 PM

R4 R5 and R10 is Chris Cuomo, still bitter.

by Anonymousreply 11June 28, 2025 9:15 PM

Excuse me, high ranking party members deserve respect and loyalty. President Biden attended the wake and then the funeral of the senator who was killed in a terrorist attack.

He's old.

Infirm.

Sickly.

And still managed to pay his respects.

Where was your orange God?

by Anonymousreply 12June 28, 2025 10:11 PM

Mainstream Democrats are hired losers for oligarchs. They are so transparently personally addicted to wining and dining with the elite. They are still more dedicated to holding back the left, than fighting the right. I mean we’ve got Erin Burnett on TV being deceptive and hand wringing over a 1% increase in a marginal tax on millionaires while the average American is completely fucked.

by Anonymousreply 13June 28, 2025 10:24 PM

ssoooooo much winning and very much of the people

You know, I don't care how profound the comment is, I disregard it when there are spelling errors like this one.

Do better.

R3 no only registered Democrats can vote in the primary. And if you want to change registration you have to do it months in advance if the election

The termite 👑 tossed a nazi salute behind the presidential seal. On stage. But it's democrats who are out of touch and losing base in courting the elite.

Got it.

by Anonymousreply 17June 28, 2025 11:52 PM

if you toss that salute over in Germany, they will lock your magaty ass up. The know what nazism costs. It cost them everything. By the way, Germany is rebuilding their army.

by Anonymousreply 18June 28, 2025 11:56 PM

The President's biggest donor does a literal Nazi salute at the Inauguration and yet it's Mamdani (who no one really can say what he did that was so bad) is the anti-semite.

by Anonymousreply 19June 29, 2025 12:17 AM

i can tell you what wrong with mamdani and it won't be racist. i want to see this play out, it will be a disaster of course.

[quote]It's you who have to grovel to other groups for any chance of reversing your ever growing unelectability.

We don't have to grovel, dipshit. We need to occupy the center, because that is where the Americans who decide elections reside.

You're confused and you don't understand American politics but that's okay.

We will see what happens next year in Virginia, and then the year after that during the midterms.
