What is it like to fly on Spriit airlines?

Are the passengers THAT unruly? How reliable is it? Is the price justified, or should one pay more for sanity?

This about sums it up.

Oh dear I misspelled Spirit, but maybe it’s telling.

Have you been to an old and forlorn trailer park in rural Alabama filled with white trash. Then you know. .

I used to work at the airport and most of Spirit Airlines customers smelled like cigarettes. A lot of them were dressed one step above homeless people.

I'm not trying to be a snobby asshole but that's just what I observed.

I think their frequent flyer program is named “Wow, you flew us twice?” I once though it would be fun to fly them just for the people watching , but realized if the plane crashed it would be about the most embarrassing way to die, like keeling over dead in a seedy porno theater

It's like riding on a train

I got a round-trip ticket from Nashville to Washington DC for 37.00. I can handle being cramped for 1 hour at that price. I've never experienced any unruly behavior on Spirit.

It’s the greyhound of airlines?

by Anonymousreply 8June 28, 2025 3:53 AM

If you are too poor to buy an “R” OP, you belong on Spirit Airlines.

Those women must have thought they were on the NYC subway, blaring their music out loud.

That is such common behavior.

It's the hotdog of the sky.

Funny bit: my ex- partner’s mother, a true Yankee with all the accompanying prejudices, felt put upon by the Irish accent on the recorded message regarding safety. She was and is insufferable at the age of 90.

by Anonymousreply 12June 28, 2025 4:30 AM

I don't understand why everyone says their planes stink.

I've never noticed any unpleasant smells.

by Anonymousreply 13June 28, 2025 5:12 AM

The customers think plastic bags full of clothes constitute carry-on luggage

by Anonymousreply 14June 28, 2025 5:18 AM

Was she on Ryanair, R12?

by Anonymousreply 15June 28, 2025 5:20 AM

I can’t see my reply for some reason. Strange. I guess Muriel is mad.

by Anonymousreply 16June 28, 2025 5:25 AM

Testing. 1 2 3

by Anonymousreply 17June 28, 2025 5:26 AM

You blocked yourself, R12.

by Anonymousreply 18June 28, 2025 5:28 AM

Spirit’s going to let this happen today.

On Spirit Airlines all seems to breathe freedom and peace and to make one forget the world and its sad turmoils.

by Anonymousreply 20June 28, 2025 5:31 AM

No, R15. Spirit Airlines.

by Anonymousreply 21June 28, 2025 5:48 AM

Thanks, R18! Fixed it. You were a gem!
