I hate scenes like that - like it's abuse or something. He pulled on him when he was angry and he spun around.

If a man pulled on her arm and she spun around and did that, it would be "well he deserved it for putting his hands on her".

It spits in the face of actual domestic violence that women have dealt with over the centuries.
