As a rule, art museums aren’t supposed to have big panoramic windows looking out into the busy street. People want someplace they can divorce themselves from the outside world and contemplate the artwork. Los Angeles’s excellent Broad does this very effectively with its long escalator from the lobby to the upstairs galleries.

The Temple of Dendur has a large panoramic windows looking, but it looks out onto Central Park. Can you imagine if it looked out onto Fifth Avenue?
